My wife son and I really enjoyed our two week stay in this very cozy and comfortable home. It is full of character and charm and in a great area. We especially loved the wood stove during the cold winter nights. Melissa and family are friendly and accommodating hosts to share the space with.
We had a great time at the house, it was immaculate and beautifully decorated. It was a real haven from busy Toronto; we did not realize what a huge city it was! I would definitely recommend the property.
The only difficulty we found with staying in someone's home was finding somewhere to put our clothes. Because the owners belongings were in the wardrobes etc, we ended up living out of our suitcases for a week. This was not a big problem and I assume common with airbag rentals.
Many thanks to Melissa ND Ted.
The farm is a fantastic getaway for a large group. There were 7 adults and 2 kids in our group, and we never felt cramped or uncomfortable. Having 2 full bathrooms and 5 bedrooms was fantastic. The house has everything equipped for a pleasant stay!
Two things to be aware of:
- There are no locks on any of the rooms (including bathrooms), so could potentially be a bit awkward
- The pond on site is not really swimmable (and Melissa said this from the beginning in our communication). But also keep in mind that the closest nice beach is about 45 min -1 hour away. So if that's important, make sure you are prepared.
Overall, we had a great time celebrating my dad's birthday, and had numerous breakfast/lunches/dinners as a family. The kids loved the foosball table, and the adults really liked the deck/backyard. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place as a great option for a getaway from the city.

It was a quiet and nice house. Everything we needed were there.
We had a great time here last long weekend (May 16-May 19) with kids and family. The farm setting is beautiful. The house had everything we needed. There was a nearby forest trail which everyone enjoyed. Around 5 km away a beautiful waterfall is there. The place provides excellent privacy and away from crowd and traffic.
Our hosts were tranquil and considerate. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They were present and helpful without being intrusive. It was a treat to be able to spread out in their lovely home. They were quick to meet our needs and made us feel very welcome.
Our family enjoyed our stay with Melissa in her aptly described charming Victorian home. We loved the neighbourhood and made good use of the nearby parks and coffee shops. When our outgoing flight was delayed by 2 hours Melissa's flexibility with our "check out" made life much easier. My kids were also very impressed with a
accommodation that came with "a complimentary dog"... Take that big hotel chains.
Thanks Jacqueline! It was a pleasure having you and your family stay with us, and we hope to see you again for your next visit to Toronto : )
Charming homey and comfortable house. Not fancy, perfect for an easy going group with a lot of kids.
Great cell reception, which is a plus since it can be spotty in this area. We watched the Canada-Sweden gold medal hockey game streaming on a tablet.
Easy 45ish minute drive to Blue Mountain.
Our visit was in the winter, and we didn't take advantage of the large property, but we hope to return in the summer.
Thanks Matt! We'd be happy to host you and your family and friends in the future.
This farm house is spacious and has lots of beds. It is equipped with all the essentials that we needed.
Melissa is quick in response.
Thanks Ming! We were happy to be able to host you and your friends.
Perfect guest !
