I'm a 28 year old media professional. My interests include travelling, sketching in Central Park and looking for good campsites in upstate New York.
Ling was a great host. I knew exactly how to get to her place from JFK airport thanks to meticulous e-mail instructions. She also left travel guides and maps in the room which were really helpful in exploring a big city like New York.
The room and building were amazing for so central a location - right next to the subway for easy access to Manhattan. The amenities were awesome too - especially the free coffee and gym; and the view of Manhattan from the 51st floor was spectacular !
I would definitely recommend staying at Ling's .
Me and my sister stayed at Ling's apartment for 2 days and it was one of the best experiences I have had in New York compared to other times I have visited New York. Her apartment was very clean and cozy. Everything thing was very convenient (subway was very close), grocery stores, coffee shops. I would definately stay at Ling's again. Right next to Central Park. Ling was a delight to talk to and very nice and helpful. Thank you Ling!
Stayed at this wonderful apartment last June for two weeks and would rent it again when I go to NYC! Aside from the great location and accessibility from the subway, this apartment unit is a haven! No noise coming off the streets, surprisingly peaceful and yet when you go down (and the doormen are friendly and polite). Everything is there: CENTRAL PARK (I cannot emphasize how nice it is to literally have the park right THERE), Magnolia Bakery, delis, Pioneer grocery store, Fat Joe's italian resto (among the many restos near there), fruit stands, boutiques. And the subway is just at the next street corner. Other apartments I've looked at say that so-and-so is "walking distance" (yeah, like TEN blocks away) but this apartment is really such a find. Plus, Ling is very easy and pleasant to deal with and up front about the details. Highly recommended!!
I've sublet from Ling twice in the past year (whenever I visit NYC). It's a great location! Right beside the park and sheep meadow, surrounded by great cafes and restaurants, not to mention the Metropolitan Museum and Museum of Natural History. It's a beautiful 8 minute walk to the Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Opera. Commutes are convenient, near the 123 or C/E lines. Ling is a lovely host and keeps her apartment clean and homey. I'll be back most definitely :)
