We booked Bryan and Capucine's house for two nights during the BottleRock Festival. They were very gracious hosts, and left their entire house open to our use while were there (except for one room). The house was very clean and well furnished. They work in the wine industry, a fact which will become immediately apparent to anyone who visits their house. Consequently they got us into a premium winery tasting at no charge to us, they offered us discounts on wine purchases at several wineries, and they had plenty of advice on which wineries to visit. They even left out a couple of bottles of wine for us to have if we wanted them. We didn't drink those, but we kind of decimated their Nespresso espresso pod collection (now I want to get one - they were really good!). They live in a quiet residential neighborhood. It was nice and peaceful there at night.
On the downside, when we got there in the afternoon it was almost 90 degrees in the house. We found out then that they have no central A/C. To be fair, this was duly noted in their listing, but we hadn't noticed this fact before; coming from Texas, we just assumed that everyone has A/C. They did, however, have a portable A/C, which we pulled out of their garage to cool off the room we slept in. With the windows open it cooled off nicely at night.
If you are highly allergic to cats, you should know it appears they have a cat normally living in the house, though it was not there while we were there, and we didn't see fur on the carpets or furniture. We aren't allergic, however, so we can't say whether or not this would be a problem for someone who is.
Overall, I do recommend staying at Bryan and Capucine's house if you're visiting Napa, especially if you plan on visiting a bunch of wineries and want an insider's opinion on where to go.
Lucky us – Bryan and Capucine and little Alexi, were back for another visit to our guesthouse. Bryan and Capucine are a wonderful, conscientious, warm and bright couple who manage their lives beautifully and put a lot into advance planning. We were impressed from the first time Bryan wrote to us. They take excellent care and always leave our guesthouse as they found it – a not inconsiderable challenge with a small child. We love having them visit.
Bryan and Capucine (and Alexi) are a wonderfully together couple – now with family. They've been repeat visitors at our guesthouse and embody the best kind of airbnb guest experience for hosts. Very glad they found us and highly recommended to other airbnb hosts.
Bryan and Capucine are awesome. This was a return visit – this time with their brand new baby, and they could not have been more wonderful in arranging for all the details. We again recommend them to other airbnb hosts and look forward to their return.
Bryan & his wife, Capucine, spent an idyll in our guesthouse in the coastal Mendocino forest a few months before the baby they are expecting is born. They were perfect guests, start to finish. Great communication and what a great occasion for the two of them to get away! We were so happy to have them stay and they took excellent care of our guesthouse. Clean as a whistle and they even stripped the bed before leaving. Sweet! Top of the chart recommendation to other airbnb hosts. A+++++
Perfect guests, just like no one had even been in the house.
It was great having Bryan stay with us. Hope he can make more trips to the beach!
