Ahhhh. Two nights at the yurt were not enough! This space is fantastic. It's a very relaxing, peaceful place that exudes a friendly, homey feeling. My friend and I stayed here during a business trip (who needs a hotel when you could stay in a yurt?) and it was great. The location is beautiful and quiet and the yurt itself is very cozy and homey. It was quite chilly with a decent amount of snow on the ground, so it did get pretty cold inside around 5 am after the fire in the stove had completely died, but it warmed up again quickly once the fire was properly stoked. I would love to come back to the yurt again. :)
My 10 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the yurt. Plenty of supplies and quite cozy. My daughter especially like the the visiting dog and goat every afternoon. The stars were amazing - perfect for Milky Way and star trail photos. Great time of year to visit if you don;t mind cold nights. We had The Needles and Newspaper Rock all to ourselves. We will likely make a return visit. Thanks, Todd!
Excellent, wonderful, awesome. Fell asleep to Great Horned hoots, woke to coyote yips. I will definitely return again and again to this cedar scented gem.
My third visit at the yurt, and my group found it as cozy and clean as ever. Lots of wood for the chilly nights, too.
It was great experience.
We did not know how to use fire place, power etc. But neighborhood helps us a lot. You can feel great nature with Yurt. Kids enjoyed with snow.
Is about time to let out some steam so you can get back to what’s really important in life? The Yurtcation is advertised rightfully as a place to ‘Escape Reality’, which it is exactly that. I stayed for two days to conquer a goal to snowboard the old Blue Mountain resort and that’s just what I did. The yurt provided everything I needed including a warm bed, good books, chopped firewood, mule deer, rabbits, coyotes, the occasional Red-Tailed Hawk and about a billion stars at night including the Milky Way. Overall the Yurtcation was a well-needed refilling station to top off my soul at the beginning of the year. By far the best yurt experience I have had so far and will be back to try it on again for the summer months.
My husband and I had a very nice time at the yurt. The location was good, the directions on the website were easy to follow for the most part. The wood burning stove was wonderful, but we were left with one empty propane tank, one tank with very little propane, and one propane tank for cooking, so the stove was our only source of heat. All in all though, it was a very enjoyable stay.
The yurt is located in a great spot - a short drive to Monticello or Moab for groceries and gear, and close to the Needles district of Canyonlands National Park. We stayed in the winter, where the host had provided an abundance of firewood for the wood stove (which kept the yurt very warm and cozy), there were shovels, coolers, propane tanks for the kitchen and propane powered heaters, and plenty of kitchen utensils and cookware for our stay. The neighbors were extremely friendly, and we loved sharing some brief time with their awesome dogs! We would recommend the yurt to family and friends in a heartbeat - great unique stay.
We loved our yurt experience! Great spot with beautiful views of the mountains. Even with snow in early December we stayed warm with the wood stove. Great location to explore canyon country- we enjoyed several hikes in Canyonlands, Arches and around Moab.
The yurt was full of character and charm that offered a wonderful retreat and a lasting experience. The accommodation was comfortable and as described in the listing. Todd communicated clear instructions and directions for the yurt. The woodburn stove did an amazing job of warming up the entire yurt during the colder weather. If only we could of stayed longer!
