Vivo a Bologna, sono sposata con una bellissima bimba, amo molto il centro storico di Bologna per questo ho scelto di occuparmi oltre che del mio lavoro di questo appartamento.
We stayed at Albiroli apartment for 3 nights this past June and it was the best decision I made. Giulio answered all my questions promptly by email while I was planning my visit, he is a very gracious host taking time to explain the workings of his apartment and making recommendations for restaurants and shops. The apartment was spotless, nicely furnished and well equipped for any traveler, Giulio even keeps a supply of maps and booklets on Bologna for guests use. We especially enjoyed the nespresso machine, air-conditioning (Bologna can get very warm in the summer) and the elevator for hauling luggage up and down! The location is perfect within a few minutes' walk of Piazza Maggior, cafes, restaurants and shops, the apartment is so central we walked everywhere including the train station.
One day I hope to return to Bologna and this is the apartment I would choose again. Thank you Giulio for making our stay so special.
The apartment location of the apt in the old section of Belogna is ideal and there are many wonderful restaurants within 5 mins or less of the apartment. Having an Nespresso coffee machine was a wonderful treat. Gielio was very responsive to my few e-mails to him and we felt well taken care of. The apartment is very quiet and comfortable.
We had a scheduling mixup, and I accidentally booked two rooms. Giulio was very kind and helpful, and solved our problem admirably and diplomatically. Bravo, giulio!
From our first email contact Giulio was a welcoming and helpful host. The apartment is in a fantastic central location and is very comfortable, with dishwasher, Nespresso machine, washing machine, good heating and great kitchen and bathroom. An added bonus were the lovely, almost new, sheets and towels provided. The free wireless internet was much appreciated too.
Giulio's charming mother, Lucia, met us, let us in and showed us around the apartment. After we'd settled in, we took the 5 minute walk to Piazza Maggiore and quickly discovered Via Pescherie Vecchie, a great street full of delicatessens and fruit and vegetable shops. Just nearby was Eataly, a combined bookshop/food shop/restaurant where we had a delicious lunch.
The following day, we bought dinner provisions – including raddichio, lasagna and ricotta tortelloni – in Via Pescherie Vecchie and took them back to Giulio's where we ate for two of our three nights. Giulio had generously left cooking ingredients, such as olive oil, vinegar, sugo and tomato paste for us to use, as well as several Nespresso capsules for the machine.
We were travelling with 2 boys of 9 and 13 and they shared the sofa bed in the living room. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us for a 3 night stay, and the boys appreciated the proximity of their bed to the TV (!).
One of the reasons for our visit was to take the boys to Ferrari and Lamborghini and, while the Lamborghini factory was closed when we were there, we made the easy train trip to Modena and saw the Casa Enzo Ferrari and the Ferrari Museum in Maranello too. Both were excellent.
We really liked the Enoteca Italiana, just around the corner from Giulio's in Via Marsala. As well as being a bar, the Enoteca is a wine shop with wines grouped by region. When we dropped in it was warm and buzzing with a Saturday night local crowd. We chose a Barbera and a Lambrusco, both from Emilia Romagna and both delicious.
We absolutely loved Bologna, and the feeling of living like locals for a couple of days - shopping, cooking and walking the arcaded streets. Giulio's apartment was a relaxing place to come 'home' to after a day out and was one of the main reasons our stay in Bologna was so enjoyable – it is highly recommended.
Beautifully decorated, spic and span, quiet and cozy apartment, perfectly equipped, couldn't think of anything that was missing..Felt like home, the ideal B & B, at a quite reasonable cost! The 2st apartment ever that had even the big size mugs that I use for my morning coffee! Great location, couldn't be more central than that, conveniently close to bus and train stations. The landlord is gentle, patient and helpful, would definitely suggest this place to an of my friends, I would certainly stay there again!
Great host, LOVELY apartment. Great location, close to city center, with shopping, lots of options to eat, and the tourist office. Great guided walking tours available. Giulio's mother met us on arrival and was a delight. They had an expresso/coffee maker and left us some coffee to get us started.
The photo's on the website are accurate and our stay was delightful.
Three of us had a great long weekend staying in this apartment. The apartment is great - everything is new, the apartment is really spacious, the shower is good and there are lots of nice touches like the coffee machine. The best thing is the location - it's right in the historic centre, and close to everything. Giulio was really nice and helpful (and even left us easter eggs!) We could not recommend this apartment highly enough. Thanks Giulio for such a great stay!
Highly recommended! The apartment is newly renovated, very well equipped (DW, W/D, Nespresso machine, etc..) and spotless clean. Best was the location of the apartment (can't be more central). Giulio is a very reliable host. Will book this apartment again without a doubt on my next trip to Bologna!
