Marcia was a wonderful host who definitely made us feel like we were at home. Room was comfortable and the description was spot on. We especially liked that she took time out of her own schedule to give us a brief understanding of the local area and how to get to the places we were required to be at. Was unsure at Airbnb to start but after this wonderful first impression we will try again and if we are ever in San Miguel again we know where to stay. Thanks!
Marcia is a very attentive and helpful hostess. She provided a lovely room within easy walking distance (15 minutes) of the Jardin and Central Plaza. In addition to a daily breakfast, she has a must-see boutique full of lovely gift items!
Excelente atención! Muy amable y clara explicación del funcionamiento. Muy cómodo y privado el cuarto con excelente terraza
Easy and comfortable experience. Marcia is a nice person and likes to have conversations
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Marcia's. She was a great host and the room and breakfast were a great value! Ulysses, the driver she recommended, even picked us up at 3:30 am to get us our of town before we had any complications from the pending Hurricane Patricia, that went across the country later that day. The location is terrific for those who want to be close to the main square, 5-10 minute walk, but who also want to live in a neighborhood where some of the 'locals' live and work. Dana's, the #2 Ranked restaurant in San Miguel is only three blocks away. Via Organica, another restaurant and café in only two blocks the other way. Buen Dia Café is a terrific little coffee and breakfast café about four blocks away. Our daughter was living with a Mexican family three blocks away, participating in a Spanish immersion program there for three months. The location and set-up worked very well for us visiting San Miguel for our first time.
We had a great time at Marcia's B&B. The place is beautiful and unique; only few minutes walking from San Miguel's main square. We have here for attending a wedding and Marcia has been a great host: she gave us a very warm welcome and she helped us arranging our logistics during the w-end (including manicure and hair-dresser for my girlfriend). Marcia knows all the secrets of this wonderful town and she's very helpful!
The listing was exactly as described; no surprises. Access to the city was easy walking distance. Marcia was easy going and laid back. We went to a wedding and she let me use her old/expensive/and pretty pashmina. The listing was accurate and the neighborhood is very central to all parts of San Miguel. I would most definitely stay there again. Thank you Marcia!!
Marcia is a very loving host. She took me out for a short tour when I first arrived and showed me the neighborhood. I was a bit sick and she tried very hard to find the right medicine for me. She does provide breakfast but it's very basic, so manage your expectation. I was surprised that she has a store right in the middle of the living room. There are customers come in and out sometime, so not as private as I thought it would be. The honeymoon room don't have Internet but the rest of the house does. Location of the place is pretty good.
This was my first experience with an airbnb and my first trip to San Miguel, and it could not have been more enjoyable. The location was perfect...5 minutes to Centro and the Jardin, 4 minutes to the Biblioteca, Juan's Cafe, and Hank's Bar, 10 minutes to the Fabrica, and 2 minutes to the market district and artisans'alleyway....3 major Spanish language schools, and good restaurants all within easy walking distance. Marcia was a wonderful host! She is dynamic. lots of fun, knowledgeable about San Miguel, and has a big, caring warm heart.
Unfortunately it wasn't a nice experience, there were various problems:
The host was unreachable, the place had no electric power nor the first night and the next morning. She left for a party and left a guy trying to fix it but apart from him there was no one else in charge, the problem was not fixed, there were gutters as well. The host had said it was pretty close to the zocalo (main plaza) which is not accurate at all it is quite far (15/20 minutes walk) when she had said it was 4 blocks away. It is not in a nice area if you want to walk at night. Overall not a good experience the place did not feel very clean will not be staying there again.
Also the place was being repaired and the host never mentioned that.
