Fantastic experience! The house was in a great part of the city and everyone was friendly. Alex was exceptionally accommodating!
everything was so great! the host was extremely friendly and cool. it was perfect. a beautiful home.
This was my first Airbnb experience and it was better than I could have ever imagined. Alex was prompt with his remote responses and the roommates treated us like family. They made themselves available for questions and gave suggestions for places to visit.
The house is incredible, clean, and spacious. Looking out from the rooftop just motivates you to do better. They also have a backyard and a grill that we were able to use to make steak. If you like movies, they have a room dedicated for that. If you enjoy cooking, they have an amazing kitchen for that too (even though it doesn't have a microwave...but it has a hookup to listen to music with volume control). We spent a lot of time admiring the art and hanging out with the musicians (studio downstairs). Next time, I'm bringing my cello because I felt a need to perform every time I passed by the grand piano in the lobby. Sushi and Monster (the cats) are really friendly and Cheese (the small dog) is cool too.
The location is central and you won't need a car to get around. The Mission is also dope because of the food (ask the roommates where to go), Dolores Park, and the Latin influence in the area. Our first day, we walked down the street and were greeted with smiling faces performing live salsa music and dancing.
Suffice it to say, this Airbnb experience has topped almost every hotel experience that I have ever had (and I have stayed in some of the best). I hope this location is available the next time I visit San Francisco.
From the first contact all the way through to my departure, this was a fantastic experience. Even though the host was away throughout my visit, the housemates are all wonderful, welcoming and accommodating. I never felt either an imposition or without privacy - a delicate balance for a large group under one roof (albeit a large roof).
The house is amazing. I spent hours enjoying the attention to detail that went into its restoration. The grand piano (maintained and in tune) makes wonderful use of the acoustics of sitting room. Even if it's been a decade since you "tickled the ivories", don't pass up a chance to try it.
It's location is beyond perfect. The view from the rooftop is spectacular, as the house is situated on a hill facing the city and the surrounding houses, neighbourhoods and skyline sprawl before you.
To describe the room as spacious would be an understatement. The funky, period wallpaper, gorgeous hardwood floors (surprisingly not very creaky), and subdued lighting in the evening from a stained-glass light makes the room warm and inviting. You will feel relaxed and wake up refreshed.
Do not fret over the lack of A/C. My first night was one of the warmest on record for the time of year. Windows open on three sides of the room, and with gentle cool breezes, the room was comfortable in no time.
The room is professionally cleaned by Homejoy, with soft, clean linens and towels set out at the foot of the bed, spa style.
To judge this "property" by the location, house, room and appointments alone would be a severe mistake. Not that they would dissuade you, but if you have any reservations whatsoever, please reach out to Alex. He and his fellow coop members are truly the best I've ever encountered.
I eagerly look forward to the opportunity to stay again. I may have to manufacture an excuse to get down to SF more often.
