Elie and Muin's place is friendly, cozy and relaxed just like them.
We enjoyed many dinners together talking about life and living in Lebanon, and I would recommend anyone whose looking for a social and relaxed week in Beirut to stay there. I definitely hope I will be back to visit them soon!
The neighborhood is also really cool. I mean I have stayed in Beirut before, but spending the week in Bourj Hamoud really gave something different perhaps a more "authentic" side of Beirut. And you can easily find cheap and delicious falafels or menoshis!
Elie is the best host you can ever imagine. he helped me with orientations, to buy a smartphone and a line so i could use whatsapp, he was the first person who showed me the city. Apartment is nice and cozy, located in a good area, that is still not so spoiled by everywhere hipsters and bars. it is no it the centre but very close to and safe even at night. Also around is a lot of shops where you can find whatever you need, and it would be cheaper than in the central districts. There is great falafel in Doura.
He has a lot of very nice friends, who sometimes come to chill on the balcony in evening, and you will enjoy their calm friendly company.
The thing is that I came to Beirut to study for almost a year, and Elie's apartment has been a place for my short-time stay, before i found myself a place for a long term. And now I can tell that i was so lucky that i stayed with Elie's. He was even helping me to find a room, and went to check some of the rooms with me. So I'm still in Beirut, and we are friends and hang out together.
Elie is the most lovely people we met in Beirut,he give us too much advice we did so many funny things,he just soooo nice we hope to see him again!
An amazing area to live in if immersing yourself in true Middle Eastern rumble is your thing. It certainly is mine, the area teems with life, the buildings radiate experience and you feel this is the real deal. Beirut proper is a short walk away, lots of shops to get your necessities from and yes of course - the stunning view of the city from the balcony, where you stand, sipping your coffee away and feeling like you own everything before you. Come and experience this for yourself!
Hôte assez sympathique surtout ses amis ! Séjour plutôt agréable , déconseiller au personne aimant flâner devant la climatisation vous risqueriez d'être dessus lol.
Merci pour tout!
