I had a great time staying at Wallace's Loft. It is exactly as described. Only 5 min from the airport and 15 min drive DT. He was very accommodating for my check in time since I was unsure exactly what time I was able to make it in. Would definitely stay there again.
Wallace was a most gracious host. He understood our late check-in time and was kind about it. He gave us a tour of his place, explaining the ins and outs of the area, and his space and was always very quick to respond to texts with any questions or concerns we had. Would definitely stay again. As this was my first AirBNB stay, it definitely left me with a very positive impression.
Thanks again Wallace.
Wallace is a generous host, and he makes you feel right at home. I certainly loved his kitchen, and I had a complete run of it (THANK YOU, Wallace!) The flat, for me, had all the stated conveniences and was a wonderful space despite the fact I was a little concerned about being on the ground floor. However, the neighbourhood, at the time I was there, is quiet and residential, but grocery shopping, etc. is a pleasant 10-15 minute walk away! There's a tempting cafe across the street (because of their freshly baked cinnamon rolls). Gromit (Wallace's cat) has a nice disposition, but wasn't feeling well when I was there -- feel better soon, Gromit!
Thank you to Wallace for allowing us to stay in his beautiful apartment. It was very clean and stylish and we very thoroughly impressed. Grommit the cat have us no end of entertainment and was definitely the most affectionate cat we've ever met. Note to all...he loves hugs!
Wallace is a great host. Attentive and warm.
The place is as described, modern. Nice interior, and very well equipped.
Although it's a studio, the layout (a wall between kitchen/living room and the bed) actually makes it feels more like a one-bedroom.
The neighborhood is quiet and there are some nice little cafes/restaurants around.
The location is very convenient. Wallace even provided a road bike which you could take over the pathway under the Canadian Line Skytrain to Richmond. Very nice ride!
Wallace was an exceptional host! From the start he was communicative and so friendly :) His apartment was clean, easy to locate, and the photographs are completely accurate. The space was the perfect getaway for my partner and I for a 4 day trip! The decor is modern but comfortable, great kitchen for making meals (and espresso--thanks Wally!!), Gromit was an adorable pleasure (despite having a kittycold), and Wallace gave us great recommendations for dining out and sightseeing. Though it was a 15-20 minute drive downtown, to west end, and to Commercial Drive where we spent some time, on-site parking and being right off a main thoroughfare made the commute easy. We didn't end up taking public transit but Wally showed us to stations and stops directly at the corner. There's a coffee shop and small market within 100 meters, and a large grocery (Safeway) very close. I can't wait to come again in the winter and would certainly book again.
My partner and I recommend both Wallace and his apartment highly without hesitation!
The place was as cute and clean as it looks in the pictures, Wallace was very nice, accommodating and helpful! As noted in another review it's about 30 minutes from downtown, but Vancouver is easy to get around and there are many bus routes across the street in either direction of the apartment. I stayed alone and felt safe and enjoyed having Gromit the cat to cuddle with! The bed was comfy, towels were soft and water pressure was great! Grocery store is a bit of a walk (several block not terrible) but convenience store and restaurants are just a minute away. Great value I'd say!
Wallace was a great host! The location was really close to bus stops so it was easy to get around. Gromit, the cat, was really low maintenance and quiet. We had a great time at Wallace's place!
This. Apartment. Is definitely worth checking out! I've spent about 10 months in AirBnb apartments over the last 3 years, and this is 1 of the better values I've come across.
- Super nice, clean, modern apartment. It's a *very* nice and well-decorated studio.
- Quiet quiet quiet - except for the occasional bus outside, it's basically silent in the apartment.
- Extras: Free parking, a nice gym in the building, a big patio out back, and a washer/dryer in the apartment
- Wallace! He is amazingly nice, and even got me donuts and ice cream for when I arrived. We got the chance to grab lunch while I was here, and he had tons of great recommendations for places to go in Vancouver. Such a great host!
- Kind of far from downtown Vancouver (20min or so in traffic), which was nice for me bc I actually prefer to be just outside of the action. But if you're planning on heading into the city every day, this could be an issue.
Also, as a consideration, there's an adorable cat (Gromit) to take care of while you're there. Again, not a problem for me since I love cats - but just be aware of that in case you're allergic :)
Overall, this was the perfect place for me in Vancouver. Wallace goes out of his way to make sure people are comfortable in his apartment, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Thanks for the great hospitality!!
Wallace was an extraordinary host and the space was well furnished, welcoming, modern, clean, air-conditioned, and well prepared. Wallace provided several welcome amenities and was always accommodating and responsive to communications.
The space is perfect for 1-2 guests and is located close to the airport and a 20 minute walk to the Marine Sky Train station. Driving from this location is great because it is on the intersection of Granville and Marine Drive and is situated between Vancouver and Richmond.
Wallace generously lent me the use of his cat (if you have any allergies, make sure to mention this) and his bike. I was able to bike to UBC and then onto Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver quite easily & enjoyably from this location. Underground parking in the condo parkade was also provided. The condo was fully equipped with an excellent espresso machine, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and other amenities.
This is a great location with a great host. I would highly recommend staying here for anybody looking to stay in Vancouver.
