We stayed at Linda's to finish a Florida roadtrip, and enjoy Miami. The location is great : close to Miami Beach life, far enough to sleep at night. I recommand a car anyway. The appartment itself is great : perfect for a couple, clean, well arranged, fully furnished and convinient. And you are 200m away from a nice beach! No downside : I recomand this place!
Linda's place was a great find! I would definitely rent it out again. She was easy to get in touch with and helpful in answering questions about her place and the area. In my opinion, for the money, her place is a much better buy than a hotel. It is two blocks from the beach, and I liked that it was in a real neighborhood. You aren't just surrounded by a bunch of other tourists but really get a flavor for that area of Miami Beach. The apartment is also comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. It is also within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and shops. My only complaint is that the place isn't all that well insulated, so you can sometimes hear the other tenants and traffic. Once we let the air conditioning fan run all night, that drown out the noise, though.
Our communication with Linda went very smoothly, and she was there to let us in to the apartment when we arrived. We didn't have any problems during our stay, but we felt that she would have reacted promptly if we did.
The apartment itself was great value for money and had all we needed for our stay. The kitchen was well-equipped to cook a fast dinner, the bathroom was nice. Everything was clean when we arrived.
The apartment was located just a five minute walk from the beach, which was very convenient. However, the waves get big if it is windy, so some days we went to another beach for swimming. We took the bus a lot, which was ok, but it would have been nice to have a car for grocery shopping since the nearest supermarket is 8 blocks away, and a good one, Publix, around 16 blocks.
Due to the proximity to Harding Avenue, we thought there was a lot of traffic noise in the apartment. Nobody else has commented on this in their reviews, so maybe that is to be expected when you go to Miami Beach.
We loved our stay. Linda's apartment was just like she announced and she showed to be a very caring person. I recommend!
Todo perfecto! Es tal cual como lo describe linda. Recomendable.
Gracias por hospedarnos!
Linda was an excellent host, very friendly, welcoming and was easily accessible for any questions we might have. The apartment was just as listed, very well equipped and extremely clean. Location was great, a 2 min walk to a lovely beach and close to lots of restaurants and a good supermarket about 10 min walk away.
Linda was an awesome host. She responded to our initial booking nearly immediately and every communication with her was prompt. She certainly wanted us to have the best experience possible in Miami Beach. You just can't beat the location of the apartment. My girlfriend and I visited the area for an extended weekend vacation and loved how the beach access was literally two block away. Linda even provided chairs and an umbrella for us to take the beach (what a host!). North Beach is much quieter, less crazy and cleaner than South Beach--which was 100% fine with us.
Ten blocks south of the apartment you'll find a Walgreens and several restaurants (Mexican, American, Brazilian, etc.). They're all within a short walk which again made the location convenient. If you want to go down to South Beach or into Miami, we UberX'd around and each ride was $10-$20 -- much cheaper than dealing with a rental car and faster than the public transit.
We were happy to see that the pictures online tell depict the apartment perfectly. Everything was spotless when we arrived. There's plenty of space. Although it was just the two of use, we could easily envision having 4 people if you use the sofa and perhaps an air mattress. You'd still be comfortable space wise.
Only a few things to note: The water temperature in the shower would vary a bit. It never got hot, but was usually lukewarm. This felt great after a day at the beach, but could be a little rough in the morning before a day of touring. You could also feel the springs in the bed, which made it fairly uncomfortable. All of this being said, given the location and the price--this was fine and we had a wonderful weekend.
Linda was the sweetest when I booked with her.
She was very helpful and made sure dat she gave us great service even before we arrived in Miami. Her place is like not even 5 minutes away from a park and the beach! This part of the beach isn't overpopulated or crowed by many hotels etc so that is just perfect. The apartment fits 2 perfectly, we had everything we needed and if there is anything you want Linda is just a phone call away. We had a very nice stay, stores and restaurants are nearby. I would advise Publix over Walgreen for groceries.
A car is (almost) a must in Miami beach but there is also the option to use Uber, incase you want to drink or don't feel like driving. Since the house is more in the north side and if you want to go to the busy side/south beach it is about 15 minutes away by car, easy breasy ;)
Don't think about it to much and book the place, Linda is Awesome.
Linda's house is amazing. It's very near by the beach and in a very nice neighborhood. We loved this place.
