I took my mom to Bali for her birthday and we had an wonderful time staying at Sara's place.
This 2 bedroom house is lovely. Off Oberoi main street yet very quiet. Roughly around 5 mins walk to main road.
The bedrooms are just the right size. The decor is simple but tasteful.
It does not come with hair dryer so bring your own.
Kitchen has everything you need. If you are planning to cook its better to inform the host.
The house has a swimming pool. If you are one of those that like to hang around the house, do a bit of swimming, get a tan or read a book, this house is perfect.
The house can be a little quiet at night and the surrounding is a little dark. However, we didn't feel unsafe.
Sara is a very sweet and chatty person and very helpful. Love this kind of host! She is quick with responding messages.
Sara was a pleasure to work with - good response time and very helpful even though she was traveling in Europe at the time. She even arranged for a driver to pick my friends and I up at the airport because the villa can be a bit tricky to find. The real story here is the villa itself though. Even though the pictures look great they almost don't do it justice. The compound is beautiful and secluded.. and the different houses give a genuine Indonesian feeling that you can't get at other newer/concrete/pop-up villas that all look the same. The pool is great, there is AC in most of the rooms, and there's plenty of space for 5-6 people. There's also a guard at the door so you don't have to worry about protecting your things every minute. Yes, it's a bit rustic, but it made for the best experience I've had in Bali so far. Can't wait to come back.
We absolutely loved our stay here, the decor was beautiful, it really made our stay in Bali feel more authentic, rather than staying in a generic hotel (where you could be any where in the world). Just the space, peace and your own pool made it. The location was perfect in very close proximity to a wide range of gorgeous shops, cafes and restaurants. It was just the right balance of being close enough to everything, but when you close the garden door you feel like your in your own little piece of paradise. If you are in need of some well deserved relaxation then this is the place, it felt safe with the owners property right by and security just at the front of the house. If you need anything, transport, directions, recommendations they were on hand to advise and help, really nice, helpful and relaxed people. The garden was lovely to come back to on an evening, with lovely lights hanging from the trees and plenty of chairs/sofas to lounge and relax on, the pool was great to jump into after a long day of exploring the island. It was my first visit to Bali, and I fell in love with the place, I will definitley be back again and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
Thanks you Natalie! It has been absolutely a pleasure to have you as a guest in our villa. You are always welcome to come back!!
Sara and her Mum-in-Law were nice hosts. Sara was helpful and flexible. The pictures of the villa are accurate. It does have a barefoot cabin charm to it. The garden has a natural lived-in feel versus a manicured landscape that you would find in a hotel.
The key thing to note is that it is a wooden cabin. There is no sound insulation or heat insulation. It does get a little hot during the day, especially in the living area that has no aircon. The bedrooms can't get very cold because of the gaps between the boards on the cabin wall. You will also be real close to nature as you can heard the birds and the crickets from your bedroom.
Sara's mum-in-law stays on the property in the house on the right hand side of the swimming pool. There was sufficient privacy because the garden was large, but it is not your own personal villa and pool.
