Our stay in Trevignano was absolutely fantastic! Paola's apartment is exquisitely furnished and shows a strong sensibility for design. It provides everything you need, it is quiet and very well located. We had a very relaxing time and love to come back! Paola is a wounderful host!
We enjoyed both the apartment and Trevignano. Recommended.
Paola's place is lovely, really one of a kind! There are real stone outcroppings in the house and everything has been done up really nice. The location is right on the lake on one of the most beautiful lanes in the town. Really easy to get to as well. The flat has everything that you need from water and treats that Paola supplies to things like a hair dryer, towels, etc. I would definitely recommend!
I don't have the words to do enough justice to Paola or her amazing apartment. The first thing I would say is that Paola was one of the friendliest and most welcoming people I have ever met (and I have done a lot of travelling in many countries). Without going into too many details she went completely out of her way to accommodate the needs and plans of myself and my girlfriend; and she made our holiday a really perfect experience. She is a really warm and lovely lady with some really interesting things to say, some great suggestions and helpful practical advice. Whilst she might say her English is not very good, it is actually very good indeed/
And then on the apartment, it is even better looking than it does in the photos, the amount of work that has gone into it is very clear, it looks like something out of a magazine, however has all the mod cons that I would have wanted. It has no internet or TV, which is ideal, as you don't want those sort of distractions while you are staying in such a beautiful location. The apartment it literally carved into the rocks and have been renovated tastefully, and originally, and manages to combine Paola's personal style with the history of the building, the geography of the area, and the practical necessities. There are various textures and colours of wood, in the furniture, ceiling, walls, inside shutters, and ornaments; and this is the same for rocks and brickwork with the walls, floor, and the quite magnificent sink, and shower areas. There was even a CD player with an assortment of classical and soul CDs which was nice to hear as we unwinded with a glass of wine and some fruit on the long wooden table.
It is located in a perfect position at the lake end of the nicest street in the whole village, very pretty, it has charming little shops and restaurants on it's doorstep and the lake is literally a stone's throw away. It would be impossible to visit all the restaurants in the village in a fortnight but every one we visited was sublime, so were the bars, and that is before even thinking about all the other outdoor activities that come with being by the lake and the hills. There are buses and boats to take you in and out of the village, and free bike hire when in the village...yes free!
We are already planning our next trip back to the village and will stay here again in a flash, it is one of the most original and beautiful places I have ever stayed. I forgot to mention that the quality of sleep was also brilliant, so quiet, peaceful, and dark. I had never used airbnb until this week, and we also stayed at two other properties in Rome (on my girlfriend's account so afraid no reviews from me), and I think it is great. This apartment was in another league compared to the other properties we stayed at *which were still perfectly reasonable). I would just like to thank Paola again...It was the personal touches and care and attention that made all the difference and improved the quality of our holiday so much. Ciao for now.
