The apartment was just like the pictures, we got the apartment clean and tidy, excellent location of the apartment and close to everything in Barcelona. Was excellent.
We spent 5 nights in Francisco's flat in beautiful Barrio Gotic. Everything was there, fridge, gas stove, full kitchen.
Noise-wise, yes, there is always some noise and the garbage trucks come at night, but nothing a set of earplugs couldn't handle. Remember, you're in a big city and not in the countryside, eh?
The bed was okay and nicely firm, everything was freshly cleaned when we arrived. Spacious bathroom. Heater was there as well (for the colder months). Supermarket around the corner, good restaurants nearby (as everything else).
The flat is very comfortably located near Placa Catalunya (big Metro hub). Please be aware that internet is only provided by SIM card/HSPA stick which wasn't a problem.
We didn't need much communication with Francisco to arrange everything. A female friend who was there to clean opened the door and left us the keys. We left the keys in the apartement when we left. No-frills as it should be :)
Overall it was a pleasant first time in Barcelona. Would recommend to book when available!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week, and couldn't have been happier. The apartment was the perfect size for the two of us, and was SO close to the beach, it was hard to find anything to complain about. There were plenty of Basra mad restaurants close by as well. It wasn't the fanciest apartment, but it was ideal for the two of us.
Spent 2 nights at Francisco's flat, and had a great time. Very nice guy and very welcoming. The flat was perfect, if you just need a place to crash. Everything was there for you and in such a cool area. I would definitely be staying again. His girlfriend came to collect the keys when we checked out and she too was a lovely person. CHEERS GUYS!! Oli and Amy.
Great location! So close to the beach.
Basic apartment as seen in the photos.
Francisco was responsive once we were at the apartment.
Was a great stay in Barcelona.
Great location with short walk to beach. Easy walk to other parts of Barcelona as well. The apartment was nice size for two unrelated people. The neighborhood had great shops and restaurants.
Love this neighborhood. Love this city. Was OK with the apartment. Was good for a few days, but would probably look around for a longer stay. The price was great though. The price was right on for the space.
Francisco was not strong on communication. Reached out to him more than two weeks before we got there to organize reception, etc, and only heard back from him two days before we got there. Tried to communicate with him VIA text from the airport when we landed to be sure someone was going to be there to receive us, and sent him another text to ask how he would like us to leave the apartment keys, etc and never heard back from him.
However, there was someone waiting for us at the door when we got there. So thats good. Just would heave liked active communication, especially when coming from half way around the world.
The apartment: Again, we love this neighborhood. It is very loud at all hours, so expect to have the doors closed over night (trash collection and street cleaning is at about 1am-3am. The buildings are very close together, so you hear every conversation. A nice addition to the apartment would be a box fan so that you have some white noise that allows you to keep the doors open, especially in hot season, but not stay awake all the time from the noise.
The space was not very clean, but not very dirty. It is clearly someones everyday living space that they cleared out of for our time there. So its that kind of general lived in dirt. Did not bother us so much especially for the few days we were there, and as we spent most of the time out of the apartment. Bed was hard if you like that. I did. my girlfriend did not. FYI: Its two beds pushed together, so it has that seem in the middle. It was also nice and clean. nice big bathroom, and a nice little terrace.
Again, for the money I would stay here again. If i have a little more to spend, I would look around if I really wanted to be in the neighborhood.
. Well located but the apartment more suited to backpackers than "0ld ladies". Cleanliness left a bit to be desired, shower small and prone to flooding the floor, very noisy street - well it is Spain so as well as people coming home in the early hours and chatting away in the street, the garbage truck came around 1am, followed by street sweeper and later the street washer. 8 motor bikes parked opposite and some left about 6am. Thank goodness for earplugs! Kitchen poorly equipped - only 2 cups which had handles. Not that we wanted to cook much. Told not to use washing machine as it didn't work properly. Shutters didn't close properly in bedroom.
Apartment needs attention
5 nights in September 2013
Had a great stay in Barcelona, the apartment is excellent and in the best location you can imagine! You have some great shops, restaurants and ice cream shops on your doorstep, the beach is 10 mins away and the Metro is up the street. We stayed during the Merche Festival, a four day long event throughout the city which was a nice surprise! I had anticipated it being very noisy at night from the other reviews but it was fine, just as you'd expect for a central apartment... even with the festival happening. Thanks Fran!
Perfect apartment, very nice host!
We spent four days in Francisco's sea-side place, it is really nice place, you can even see the boat on the sea from the balcony! Great location if you want to enjoy the beautiful beach in Barcelona! Definitely a highly recommended place!!
I met Daniela last year, when I went to Barcelona for some months to make a course and a rented a room. She was very kind and always wanted to help me if I had a problem or something. We became very friends besides I returned to my country.
Her flat is really nice, everything correct and confortable. The thing I liked most was the balcony in my room.
See you when I return to Barcelona Daniela!!!!!
