Once upon a time I was translocated to Patzcuaro, Michoacan for a year of my life. I enjoyed exploring Mexico and all it´s food, culture and diversity, met really wonderful people there and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the ´off the beaten track´ destinations and attractions that only living in a place for a length of time can afford. I started sharing my love of Michoacan and Patzcuaro in particular with anyone who came our way, and although life has called me back to California indefinitely, I still love sharing Patzcuaro with anyone who is interested. So now I manage Casa de Nana Ree from afar with the help of our invaluable caretaker and wonderful housekeeper in Patzcuaro.

I started meeting other travelers several years ago as I hosted couch surfers from all over the world in my (then) home in Santa Cruz, Ca. Airbnb was the logical next step as I gradually desired more security, comfort and privacy both as a traveler and host. 'Surfing' someone's couch is all about sharing your community with travelers and I have tried to apply that to our Casa as well. We have done our best to leave you comfortable AND informed - because the best things about visiting a new place are often the ones you wouldn´t ever know about unless someone told you!

Being an experienced myself, I know it's the little things that make a place special. I treasure good music, delicious food (especially Mexican street food), interesting people, conversations and of course, wandering aimlessly whenever I can! So in the spirit of fellow travelers, we open the doors of our Patzcuaro Casa in hopes that others can enjoy a taste of the tranquilidad, cultura y amistad that is so prevalent in small town Mexico.
