New to Airbnb and excited to check it out.
Great apartment for exploring Boston! It is just a couple of blocks away from the Public Gardens and within walking distance to pretty much everywhere. A comfortable 1 bedroom with a full size bed. It was really nice to come back from a day of exploring and relax without feeling crowded. Only things to consider: you have to walk up quite a few stairs, so beware if you have an extra heavy bag! Also, no outlet in the bathroom, but plenty of electrical outlets throughout the apartment. Kitchen was decently sized and super comfy couch! Bill also gave great recommendations for restaurants in the area.
We had a great stay at Bill's apartment in Boston! It was the perfect location. Just less than a block to the Boston Public Garden, the Cheers bar was around the corner and Newbury street was close by. Plus being just a few blocks from a T station was great. If you are looking for a charming place that makes you feel like a local, I would definitely recommend this one! We walked and took the T everywhere except the airport, and the taxi ride was just $25. Keep in mind, it is a 4th floor walk up - we got our exercise in! I would definitely stay here again, though. Thanks, Bill!
Bill's place was amazing! We had the most incredible stay. The apartment felt warm and friendly - Bill was even kind enough to leave two bottles of red wine, a very welcomed touch for weary travellers! The neighbourhood (Aussie spelling!) was really beautiful, it was so pretty and right next to the Commons gardens. I felt safe++ walking around it, even at night. I loved that Bill had scrabble, books, ski gear etc. in the apartment, it really gave you the sense that you were his guests - not just paying for a room. Loved it and would love to stay there again! Thanks Bill!
Bill's apartment was quaint and exactly as described. He added lovely touches like a bottle of wine and chocolate upon arrival- And even had little toiletries available for us. Easy check in and check out. And the apartment was the perfect location for shopping, eating and running in the commons. We would definitely stay here again.
The apartment was exactly as shown in the photos - comfortable and cozy for two people. Nothing fancy but clean and thoughtfully provisioned. The wine, chocolates, fresh sunflowers added an original touch! The location was ideal for our needs - walking distance to the Public Garden, Commons, Beacon Hill, etc. and convenient to Symphony Hall and the Museum of Fine Arts. The neighborhood is lovely with its old brownstones, and the Green Line station is only a five minute walk away. Be forewarned that this is an attic apartment on the 4th floor and that there is no elevator. (We read this in one of the reviews but didn't realize how high the ceilings in the old Boston buildings are!) It's not a serious problem unless you plan to go in and out frequently. Bill was in constant communication with us once we arrived and allowed us to check in early. He thoughtfully left us a list of good eateries in the neighborhood when we requested it. Overall we had a good experience and fell in love with Boston all over again!
Bill is a very kind host, and made arrangements so I could get the key even though my flight had been grossly delayed.
The apartment itself is small but truly cozy, probably around 30 sq.mts. After all the touring, sightseeing (or taking courses, as was my case) you will be glad to lay back in a comfortable sofa and enjoy the very fast internet connection and Roku player.
Location is what earns this apartment a 5 star rating. Truly only 40 mts away from Boston Public Garden and a few blocks away from Arlington Station, it is an outstanding operations center for the busy tourist.
After I left Bill's apartment for a complimentary stay at a nearby hotel, not a day went by that I didn't miss his apartment.
Nothing compares to the privacy, independence and comfort a cozy, well located place like this can provide.
Great building, comfortable apartment, prompt and flawless communication, location was terrific. I would definitely stay here again.
Bill's apartment is a great value in a great location, and Bill was a great host!
The apartment is convenient to shopping and restaurants on Newbury and sites like the Public Garden and Boston Common (among many others). It's also a perfect location if you want to run or walk along the Charles River or are visiting for an event on Esplanade - you're just a block from the footbridge (near the Hatch Shell).
As a host, Bill was extremely responsive and friendly in messaging, and was also kind enough to offer a little flexibility on the check-in/check-out time within the constraints of his other guests' plans and our flight times. He even left some red wine and chocolate!
As other reviewers noted, the apartment is on the 4th floor, so we got some good exercise with the luggage. But it wasn't so bad for the daily ins-outs/ups-downs. It's not a fully updated place, but for a one-bedroom in that location, I was very happy with the value--much better than other options I saw and certainly much better than hotels!
Best Airbnb experience so far. Great great place. Wonderful, cozy apartment. Very quiet and clean. Bill left wine and favorite dark chocolate on the table. Comfortable bed, kitchen has everything. Very affordable compared to rest of Boston. Bill is very attentive, very friendly and helpful.
Wonderful location for running on Charles River, best coffee in town across the park at Thinking Cup. Public Transportation nearby. Really looking forward to the next stay in Boston.
Bill made us feel very welcome. The apartment was clean, well equipped and quiet. We enjoyed staying in this Back Bay location and will look to rent this apartment next time we are in Boston. I had a few requests for Bill and he responded quickly every time.
Quite the host..thank you Bill
