Never really met the host. His wife let us in the night we arrived and she was very nice.
Jason and his lovely wife and family made our experience to Mill Valley quite wonderful. We arrived on a Saturday evening to a nice, clean studio cottage that looks just as the pictures show. It is connected to a very nice porch that overlook beautiful trees and mountains in the area. Our hosts were very friendly and made our stay at the stand-alone cottage comfortable. They gave us total privacy but were available if we needed anything. I would highly recommend staying at Jason's cottage when considering a place in Mill Valley.
We never actually made it to the cottage to stay, HOWEVER I can attest to Jason's immediate response to my messages, tests, calls and emails. He was very accommodating in that regard and I will DEFINITELY reach back out the next time we are in the area.
Very nice place! I was greeted when I arrived and shown around. Nice accoutrements. Great wifi, 12mbps down/1mbps up. They left water for us and had coffee & a coffee maker for morning. Nice bed too. Surroundings are great, the deck looks out to a redwood forest. A very nice stay.
First, Jason & his family made me feel very welcome.
The cottage itself is ideal, beautifully built, well-appointed and kept up. The bed is ample and very comfortable, bathroom is large & modern, and there's nice extras like a fridge and big screen TV w/cable. You feel like your in a 5-star, fancy hotel suite, while being in a reasonably-priced B&B in the redwood & eucalyptus trees up in the hills above Mill Valley. If you have reason to stay in Mill Valley or visit any part of Marin County, I would recommend this as a top choice.
Wonderful host. Friendly and welcoming. Guest cottage was as advertised. Clean and comfortable. Felt like we were in the middle of the Redwood forest. The access road is a bit harrowing but something to talk about and remember! Almost felt like our small soi's in our city of Bangkok. Highly recommended!
In a great location, tucked away from the madding crowd, this cottage offered us a weekend respite from busy university careers. We were a bit surprised about the proximity to the main house, but were happy to be in a home away from home. Jason and his family were very welcoming and accommodated our short-notice booking with no trouble.
Jason's place was a separate guest cottage as described and pictured in the listing. It is in a beautiful location in Mill Valley surrounded by redwoods. The bed is comfortable and the water hot with ample water pressure. While I didn't get to meet Jason in person, he was always an email away to help out when needed. For those of you with bigger cars, the final stretch of roads to get there were a bit narrow and windy.
Jason's place was simple, clean, and sweet and in a beautiful location in Mill Valley, near the Dipsea stairs that go down to town in one direction or begin a long journey to the pacific in the other direction. Jason was so accommodating and totally saved me by letting me book the day I reached out to him. The place is all windows and surrounded by redwoods. While I was there his family was gone so I left the curtains up and enjoyed the deck all to myself. The place is a great alternative to a hotel- much nicer and more spacious and in a beautiful location, however there is no kitchen or separation of rooms if you are used to air bnb places that are a bit more homey.
The guest cottage was very nice- the redwood trees surrounding were also lovely. We wish we had had time to use the fireplace, but then again, dry summer in Marin, so probably not a great idea. Jason was flexible about check-in and check-out time, which made things during kind of a hectic weekend a little easier.
We rented this the weekend a friend was getting married in downtown Mill Valley, partially because an online map said it would be a 20 minute walk to town. It is actually more like an hour, so not really walkable. Other than that, a really nice place to stay.
