From NYC. Lover of everything, especially animals, food, travel, photos, and wierdly interesting people.
The apartment was perfect - great location, perfect size and safe neighbourhood. Amanda was lovely, quick to respond to emails and was more than happy to meet us at 1am for us to collect the keys of her. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you Amanda!
I am happy I chose to stay at Amanda's apt.
To begin with, she was responsive to emails and messages that I sent while I was making a reservation to her apt. Her studio looks exactly same with the pictures she posted and it is very clean and cozy. I also liked the location- it has lively and energetic atmosphere. The only difficulty I had was that as the building is a walk-up apartment, there is no elevator. If you are carrying big luggages like I did, you will need some help form someone else.
A great host, a charming apartment. Everything you want and more. We loved every minute of our stay, it felt like home. Need I say more? Go ahead and book, I can't wait to get back!
Amanda rolled up like a force of nature to give me a key and show me the place. Up the stairs and there we were in her cute studio. It fit the bill perfectly for me. Exactly how it looks in the pictures the apartment has a decent kitchen set up, a comfy bed and thankfully during the heat wave an effective AC!
Amanda covered every quirk of the place and question I might have had with enthusiasm and an easy smile that made me feel right at home.
Prior to my booking, I communicated with Amanda and she was very patient and accommodating to my unexpected change in travel plans. When I arrived into the city 1hr ahead of time, she had no problem with it too and met me in the apartment with a big smile and was very welcoming.
The location is superb (close to everything and many different subway lines in the proximity) and the apartment is cozy and inspiring with art on the walls and recent issues of magazines for reading. The apartment is compact with a kitchenette stove, plates and cups and full-sized fridge. There is even a coffee machine and baking oven. Amanda also provided fresh towels too. Though there is no TV in the apartment (which is OK since there are so much else to do in NYC), there is a set of speakers, iPhone charging cable, and many power points for electric gadgets. The WiFi inside the apartment was also reliable.
During my stay, there was a leak in the apartment below and the maintenance guys had to make a few trips into the apartment for checks. Amanda was however very apologetic and sincere about the whole incident. I'm glad that the issue was eventually resolved.
I really enjoyed my stay in Amanda's apartment, and hope to stay there again when I return!
A very good choice! Amanda was very helpful - waited for us to arrive, even if our flight was late (and surprisingly, we had no phone network to let her know about it) and explained everything about the apartment. already before our arrival she sent as a list of her favourite places to eat and visit - it was very much appreciated.
Perfect location, with lots of public transport just around the corner even if there are many places at a walking distance. Place looked as in the pictures, it was very clean and very nicely decorated. There was a heat wave while we were visting New York, so the AC was very much appreciated :).
We definetely would suggest this place to anyone looking for a cosy studio for their stay in New York!

An excellent NYC-experience with Amanda. She is very nice, everything went smoothly with her. It was perfect !
Amanda's apartment is perfectly located. It's right by a number of train lines which makes getting to any part of the city easy. The apartment is back facing which means it's super quiet and a good night's rest is so nice after a long day in NYC.
We didn't get into Manhattan until about 1:00 am, yet there was a gorgeous (really!), smiling Amanda waiting to let us in and show us the ropes...
The place is clean, home-y, and very, very comfortable. Sheets, towels, dishes, furniture all perfect for the place and perfectly laid out. (So perfectly home-like you can walk in the dark and not stub your toe!)
And, it's in the perfect area of Manhattan (Flat Iron) for getting anywhere... we went to east side, west side, uptown, down and Brooklyn and never walked more than a few small blocks to get a subway. Cabs were plentiful.
But the trippiest part was - in spite of what a vibrant area it's in it was dead quiet at night, (even with the windows open!), a true rarity in Manhattan. The lay out of the building puts the apartment's BIG windows on a "courtyard" that's away from the street and mostly unused at night. How ideal is that?
I was apprehensive of trying this "new way" of finding a place to stay, especially because my 10 y/o son was with me, but we must be the luckiest people around because Amanda made this a PERFECT experience (and , yes, my son thought so, too!) !!!!
THANK YOU, AMANDA... we WILL see you again.
Amanda and Deanna have been perfect guests. they left the apartment in a perfect condition.
She is lovely and friendly...she left the apartment in fantastic condition and she has been very clean. I really recommend Amanda to everyone.
