Great communication with Abby; she replied quickly and often, and she was very helpful and concerned with ensuring that our stay at her apartment was enjoyable and trouble free. The apartment itself is very cute and comfortable. The little kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, and dishes - as well as the all important large size French press for starting the morning! It was also comfortably-heated, and we were there in the middle of a blizzard. Having the in-building laundry was really nice too. We didn't hear much from Abby's neighbors, but when we encountered them in the halls or at the front door, they were all quite friendly. Always a plus.
The location is really great. The neighborhood is nice, fairly quiet (even at the height of Christmas-New Years), but still lively. The length of 9th Avenue is full of restaurants of all descriptions, from cheap takeout to elegant gourmet dining, with a very international selection of foods (Indian, Afghan, Thai, French, Italian, Japanese, Druze(!), German, and more) Nearby 46th Street is devoted to some more upscale restaurants (on your way to the theaters in Times Square), but they offer well-priced, prix fixe lunch specials as well. There are plenty of places to drink if you are so inclined; sports bars, Irish bars, local watering holes, a number of low-key gay bars, and, many of the restaurants have very generous Happy Hour specials. There are also convenient markets, corner deli/liquor stores, and a Duane Reade (that's a pharmacy and general goods store if you're not familiar with NYC).
For getting around New York, Abby's apartment is extremely convenient. It's only a couple blocks away from the Blue Line (A, C, E) with both Uptown and Downtown stations. So it's easy to ride uptown to Columbus Circle (and Central Park), downtown to Penn Station (great if you take the Long Island Railroad from JFK), the Grey Line (L) which goes east across the city (offering transfers to the Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green Lines), or ride downtown to Chelsea, Greenwich Village, or the World Trade Center. Oh, and of course, you can just walk over to Rockefeller Center and Times Square. Great location for first time visitors or recurrent malingerers.
Abby studio is perfectly located, close to all Broadway's Ave theaters (walking), and conected to every part of the Big Apple through the various metro lines passing by.
The studio is completely equiped as described, in perfect conditions & very clean.
It is quiet in relation with NY City standards, which allow the visitors to rest during days & nights.
You feel as if it was your place when coming back from visiting : you can connect your computer, do a little cooking and feel at home.
We definitively recommend this place ; the ideal location for 2 on a week visiting NY.
I really enyoyed my stay in Abby's apartment. The apartment location is great, close to all sort of things: beautiful restaurants, markets, subway stops. The place is larger than what you see in the pictures, because the ceiling is high. The building is so quiet and the neighbors are friendly and cordial. Never got to meet Abby, but her instructions were very helpful. She, by mail, was attentive to everything I needed and all my questions. The bed is so comfortable, the wooden floor make easy the cleaning, and the bathroom is well equipped. I gonna stay in Abby's in my next travel to New York./El apartamento de Abby es una excelente opción para la estadía de cualquiera en New York.
Abby´s apartment was perfect for my stay in NY. Both the building and the apartment are very clean, cozy and quiet. The location is great, the neighborhood is full of shops, restaurants and pubs, and close to many Metro lines.
I recomend Abbys´s apartment, and will definetily contact her again for my next trip to NY.
Abby is perfect. Her house is very nice and very clean, and inside you will find every things you could need. I repeat: is perfect.
I could not recommend this place highly enough, we had such an amazing time here!! The apartment is everything it is advertised as and more, with such an easy location and plenty of brilliant bars and restaurants in the area it was a really amazing find.
Abby was a brilliant host, giving us lots of suggestions and being really helpful before our trip. Thank you for everything Abby, I will certainly be recommending you to friends and family and rebooking with you for my next trip to NY!!
All the best
Abby's place was a great base for my trip. Time Square became my backyard and I loved it! There are so many friendly people at the local bars too, it's easy to make friends :) The flat was the perfect size and tastefully decorated. The best part was there is no noise to keep you awake, I never heard a sound from the neighbours, it was fantastic and very clean. Abby is friendly, professional and extremely helpful. This was my first time in New York so I had many questions and Abby answered them all, she was also easy to contact as well. It was so nice meeting her as she is friendly and easy going!
If I go back to New York I will definitely be staying at Abby's once again! Thank you Abby for having us!
Abby is a wonderful host, the apartment is exactly as described, furnished with excellent teste, very clean and comfortable.
We found Hell's Kitchen a perfect base to visit the city, very central and animated but, since the apartment face the internal courtyard it is very quiet.
Would definitly reccomend to stay here and hopefully we will come back soon.
We had a lovely time staying in this flat. Staying in Midtown made it easy to walk to Central Park and Riverside Park while still being able to hop on the nearby train to Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. You are walking distance from all the big theatres and surrounded by fantastic restaurants. Hell's Kitchen has lots of weekend markets to explore as well.
The apartment itself is clean and minimalist chic, but has everything you'll need. Very comfortable bed! We look foreward to returning to this flat the next time we are in New York. Abby is very responsive and nothing but helpful and accommodating.
Abby and her parents were a pleasure to host. True to her promise, they left the apartment better than they found it! Abby was a great communicator and I highly recommend hosting her.
