I sing with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. My passions are cooking Mediterranean cuisine, biographies, history, visiting museums (I have a membership to the SF Fine Arts Museums), restoring vintage furniture, and international travel.
Occasionally, I teach English one-on-one through a unique home stay/language immersion program. Examples of former students have been Japanese accountants, a Swiss politician, a German lawyer, an Italian language school director, a Spanish public administrator, a Corsican air traffic controller, and French and Belgian teens prepping for university TOEFL exams. I'm still in touch with many of them; some I've even visited in their homes in France, Italy, and Switzerland.
As a San Francisco native, I also enjoy offering my guest master bedroom to interesting travelers - more than 350 over the past ten years - from all over the world. It's a fabulous way to share cultures, and to be an ambassador for the Bay Area.
I'm also an enthusiastic Airbnb guest! I've rented a room in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and apartments in Florence for months at a time in the past two years! My adult son, Andrew, has welcomed and hosted guests in my absence, and has also been an Airbnb guest in Italy.
