I am a Paralegal and Ad Hoc Risk Manager employed by the in-house legal department of KSL television which is the NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah. Prior to KSL I worked for 6 years at Headwaters Incorporated, with a specialty in commercial property insurance and risk management. My past primary focus was handling commercial incidents, Stock Options, Section 16 & FORM 4 filings, Commercial Insurance, Mergers & Acquisitions, as well as Contracts and complex Business Entity filings.
A short few weeks after the devastating 7.0 earthquake in Haiti myself and 19 other close associates traveled on the back roads from Santo Domingo Dominican Republic across the Haitian boarder en route to one of the severely affected towns arriving in Jacmel Haiti. While there we worked to demolish the remains, remove the rubble by hand and help prepare the foundation to re-construct a school in a mountaintop village named Cité Lumière. Before we departed Haiti we had the opportunity to work in the local catholic orphanage.
I graduated from Westminster College with a Paralegal degree, a B.A. degree in English, a minor in Political Science, with an emphasis in Mandarin Chinese. During my academic career at Westminster College, I was appointed as the National Constitutional Committee Chair to strengthen the constitutional infrastructure that now serves as the national foundational guidelines for College Democrats of America. Shortly after this appointment, I served on the College Democrats of America (CDA) national board as the National Communications Director under the auspices of the Democratic National Committee in Washington D.C.
Since graduating Westminster in 2005 with my second degree I served as the Utah Bar Paralegal Division Chair and served as the division’s Government Relations Liaison to the Utah State Bar. I have had a diverse paralegal career that has varied from working with the Utah Attorney General’s Office in the Commercial Enforcement and Consumer Protection division to working for 20 years with various local and national political organizations, gubernatorial, Senate, Congressional and Presidential campaigns around the United States. In 2008, I worked as the State Director for Governor Bill Richardson’s Presidential campaign in Utah.
