I am a creative person. I love to cook, read, write, listen to music, sing, dance, travel.
Francesca's studio was perfect. She very graciously talked me through getting into the unit later at night and made sure everything was comfortable and as I needed. 15 min walk from Davis Sq T Station.
This is a very lovely, cozy apartment located about 3/4 mile from Davis Square. The walk is short (15 minutes) and very nice, as you take a pedestrian and bike path off of Cedar.
The bed is comfortable, the apartment is clean, the kitchen is modern and easy to use, the bathroom stocked with towels and nice toiletries. Francesca, who is very warm and welcoming, made the check-in and check-out process incredibly easy. I definitely would stay again and highly recommend her place!
Francesca was a great host! The studio is very nice and clean and in a great location.
Great location, Free Parking, 20 min walk to the Metro. Francesca left a great set of instructions for us when we came to stay, as well as some great guidebooks for the area. There was allways the posibility to ask questions and look for help if needed. Francesca and her boyfriend Greg were really welcoming! What we liked is that they didn't bother with the check-in\check-out schedule - they just left the keys in a 'special' place so we were completely independent at this point.
Clean studio with parking which was nice. Not terribly modern as it describes but (website hidden) doesn't work and apartment was definitely minimal as far as furniture. Properly air conditioned, however you will hear people upstairs walking around and parking lot light on outside the window. Shade was broken. Price was fair.
Great location, Free Parking, 20 min walk from the red line, which will get you to Harvard, MIT or Downtown Boston! Studio's clean and really convenient! I Highly recommend it for any couple Visiting the Area
My stay in Boston was very pleasant, the apartment was in a quiet street, and had no problems. Bit of a walk to Davis Square subway, but a great walking path along the way, very pleasant walk, about 20 minutes or so. Greg, Francesca's friend, arranged to pick me up first day, and that helped a lot. Have no real complaints, there is privacy, fridge, stove, and very cozy.
Francesca's apartment was a pleasure to stay in. It was very clean, and everything functioned very well. She left a great set of instructions for my me when I came to stay, as well as some great guidebooks for the area. Francesca was a terrific combination of helpful and also hands off, which made the apartment really feel like home for the few days I was there. It was convenient for parking and also a close ride to Davis sq. Thanks for a great stay!
Response from Francesca:
To be honest, I'm apprehensive to share this review because I don't want to be reviewed more harshly as a guest in return but I feel I should be frank. Although Francesca was a dear, and was extremely accessible, we did have a number of disappointments with the apartment. First off, we showed up around 10 pm after a rehearsal dinner for a wedding and the place was like a hotbox. The blinds had been left open and it was so hot that even with the A/C on max, the place did not cool down enough to sleep comfortably for several hours. To be fair, we realized as the weekend wore on that keeping the blinds closed and the A/C running when we were there helped a lot.
However, there were a few other issues. The hosts had left no toilet paper for us, only half a roll. And when they brought over some the next afternoon, it was only two rolls with the request to try to use only one (which felt a little cheap). At that point out of necessity we had already purchased our own. Additionally, there was no dishwasher in the place as advertised (nor any dish soap even if there had been), and the towels that were left for us were damp. Lastly, the TV just plain didn't work - we weren't expecting cable or even regular service - just the ability to play a DVD (why have a TV in the apartment at all if it doesn't work?) and although we much appreciated Francesca taking a look when she dropped off TP, she basically just said to unplug it and let it reset (which we tried multiple times to no avail) and reminded us that it wasn't meant to be for guests anyway (then why include it in the pics of the place?)
I hate to sound so nitpicky, and any one of these things wouldn't have been a big deal, but altogether it made for a less than comfortable visit. Then again, Francesca was also quite flexible with us on the check-in time, the place was very cute, clean, quiet and pleasant, and all in all way better than any hotel we could have gotten. I recommend it despite the reservations I've mentioned above.
Response from Francesca:
Sorry tv broke. There was dish soap. Very hot summer. Can be difficult at times to cool any place despite the size. :) also I said one roll of toilet paper should be enough. Not that you couldn't use more. :)
Francesca and her partner were interesting and considerate guests. We very much enjoyed having them to stay and would look forward to hosting them again in the future.
