I am new to Airbnb but have enjoyed the likes of (URL HIDDEN) and traveling and meeting friends in destinations along the way. I have included my current message why I am traveling to Oakland and also my resume in progress :)

I am coming to Oakland in January! I am getting very excited about it:) I will be attending a continuing education course - Integrated Movement Studies at the UC Berkley Campus.

I am a Ballet teacher and movement facilitator in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I have been following the lineage of dance training that is offered at Berkley. Bartenieff Laban Modern Dance as it is known. I have had the pleasure of working with students of the mentors at Berkley in Seattle and New York. This will be my first time to Oakland:) I am considering in the future studying more in depth with the mentors at Berkley once I get a feel for it this January:)

My course begins 9-5pm Thursday, January 5th to Sunday, January 8th. Finishing early on Sunday so I fly out at 5pm. My flight lands into Oakland Wednesday, January 4th around 2pm. So, I am looking to connect for the nights of January 4th through 8th.

I wish you many warm wishes and a joyful Christmas weekend!

Kind Regards,
Codi Dalen

“There are no limits or boundaries to where your soul can lead you in this lifetime. As you connect and tap into its power, you'll start to understand yourself on a soul level and become all that you're meant to be – a beautiful extension of God – so that your soul resonates, shines and most of all….illuminates." - Excerpt taken from John Holland's book The Power of the Soul.

To me truly embracing movement and dance is an expression of our Soul. Bringing all of you into that one moment of that one movement is a great success and a great lesson! Take each step in courage to brave your beliefs, melt your worries and experience BLISS! Let's dance together! Celebrate, Commit and Connect!

Mission statement:
Everyday I create space to support a higher consciousness. Through this I attract wisdom and guidance to support and encourage me on my unique journey. I am in awe at the openness I feel for peace and love to flow through me and the healings that come forth. I choose to guide my life with loving intentions, powerful thoughts and share in the abundance I receive.

Codi Dalen, registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and was the Artistic Director of Soul Funktion Dance Studio 2004-2010.
One of Codi's mentors Bill Evans puts it so perfectly, “Teach what you want to learn more about!" To Codi this means to fully embody and experience knowledge through movement and a commitment to life-long learning.
Since its creation Codi has seen the need to continually grow an environment that nurtures young peoples' creative flow and individuality. Understanding the need across the dance world to create artists of the future rather than just “technologically sound machines." Codi believes that the discipline of dance is truly intended to develop a dancer who can work on a team but just as importantly be able to be a leader with many ideas.
In 2006 upon researching continuing education options Codi auditioned and received acceptance to the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies. This two year program prompted intensive study in Ballet technique and progression, Pedagogy, Anatomy and Physiology, Dance History, Classical Rhythms and Musicality and Professional Standards for Dance Schools within Canada. Upon completion of the program in 2008 Codi received Registered Teacher Status (RAD RTS) and has successfully entered her Ballet students into the RAD Ballet exams and most recently has had a Ballet student receive Distinction on her RAD Vocational Intermediate Ballet, placing her achievements in the top 10% across the international organization. The RAD is the world's largest examining and teaching organization for Classical Ballet. It has over 15,500 members in 82 countries. A strong sincere commitment to Continuing Education is necessary for every registered teacher with the RAD. Codi has continued to foster relationships with senior teachers within the organization and has enjoyed learning from and bringing Mariah-Jane Theis' knowledge and experience to the Whistler Community and Soul Funktion.
During the summers of 2009 &2010 Codi had the opportunity to attend Bill Evans “Dance Teachers' Intensive" in Seattle, WA and Brockport, NY (URL HIDDEN) The focus of study at this time for Codi is intended to further her understanding of the following principles to be applied to her teaching of primarily Ballet and other forms of movement:
- Balanced inner connectivity and outer expressivity
- Balanced stability and mobility
- Full three-dimensional access to the kinesphere
- Enhanced musicality and effective phrasing
- Healthful regenerative ways of moving that honour the body's needs, prevent injuries and increase kinaesthetic satisfaction and longevity.
This is a distance study program throughout the year and with summer intensive trainings commitments to continue for the next 3-5 years. Upon contemplating the commitment necessary to this program, a commitment to personal growth and the day to day management of Soul Funktion Dance Studio. So, this summer she closed the school.
