Lovely apartment in a great part of town. The sunny rooftop terrace was a big plus and the apartment is in good condition and furnished with all the essentials for a short or long stay in Tel Aviv. The location is excellent, just a few minutes from restaurants, a 24 hour supermarket and the beach. There is also a Tel-o-Fun (bike rental) station nearby. Contact with the host was very good and all our questions pre-travel were answered quickly and in a friendly manner. Highly recommended.
I had a short visit, but Liza's place has very good vibes, and I think it reflects the owner's personality, carful and welcoming. There's a classic European taste in furnishings, the bed is comfortable, and even though the ceiling is low, it gives a cosy atmosphere. The old north TA area is the best, quiet but close to everything, the sea, the yarkon park with its river and good bars and restaurants. Very positive experience!
Liza's apartment was true to description. A lovely, nicely decorated place in a good location: not far from the sea, there's a bike rental station (tel-o-fun) and a 24/7 supermarket nearby.
It is built on a roof of a real living house and is not one of those mini-hotel rooms falsely advertised as real apartments.
The apartment has everything one would need to stay comfortably. There weren't any issues with hot water etc. The walls are thin, though, and the windows' thermal insulation is not very good, but there's an air conditioner which can work in heating mode on the colder winter days.
The open terrace is real awesome for having your cup of tea in the morning. Cool view of the roofs of the nearby buildings and the street as well.
Liza was a kind and cooperative person, pleasant to speak with.
Liza's flat is decorated with taste, clean, well located and Liza is a very kind and reactive person.
As mentioned in other comments, the ceiling is just a bit more than 190 cm, which is low and walls are not very well isolated, so expect some noise from the street (but that's life in the centre of a big city...) and a bit of fresh air during the winter.
I also had enjoyed the sunny terrasse.
Liza is a very nice and kind host. We felt really at home, the apartment is comfortable, and the rooftop is a big space, clean, with an amazing view and a special ambient, specially at night.
We highly recommend to move around the area, which has good restaurants, parks, beautiful streets … And of course the beach and the new port.
Thanks to Liza I had a wonderfull time in tel aviv. The terrasse is great to start the day. I really enjoyed the life there !
Liza is a warm and caring person. She was really fast in answering questions, did really care about us. She is a great host.
The apartment is in a good location, near beaches and some excellent restaurants. The interior of the apartment was nice, individually furnished. The ceiling is low, which means the place gets very hot unless the aircon is full on all the time. We found the kitchen lacking in glasses - just 3 assorted tumblers. The shower attachment on the bathroom wall was broken, so we had to hold the shower head in our hands.
But our main issue was the rooftop terrace. We were extremely disappointed. From the photo and description on airbnb, we were expecting somewhere where we could sit out and relax. But there was nowhere to do this. The furniture shown in the photo was not there. All we had was 2 uncomfortable upright chairs and a small, very basic table. The roof is covered with loose gravel, so you can't lie on it. There was a small parasol, but nowhere to stand it up - so no shade at all.
We complained to Liza about how misleading the photo and text on airbnb is, and she agreed to refund some of our money. She was friendly and quick to respond to our comments about this and other things, so I hope she deals with the rooftop issue for the sake of future visitors.
We spent a week in Liza's studio and we're pleased to share a few points:
Firstofall the location is good, 2 mn walk to the beach only (Hilton Beach) and several nice affordable restaurants and café at the same distance (and shops) . And the new Tel Aviv harbour is close also.
The building itself is quiet, we never heard the neighbourg.
Nevertheless a few facts must be known: The ceiling is quite low (below 2 meters) i'm 1m88 tall and felt a little bit oppress with less than a finger above my head, not to mention i had to bend to pass througt the doors to enter or to go to the rooftop. The rooftop is also a point, do not expect a quite nice terrasse, it is a rooftop and you can find AirCon motors on it so when the other apartment switch on their AC it's kinda unpleasant. Not to mention the rusty bars at every windows (but you can see them on the pics so no surprise but add a little bit to the oppressive atmosphere)
We share a complaint to Liza when we arrived she was embarrassed of our disappointment and was reactive: the rooftop was full of destroyed furnitures and old pranks and the day after it was completly removed and a table installed.
I was glad to meet Liza and enjoy her hospitality
Liza and her son Omri stayed with me for 10 days and were lovely. They were respectful and quiet, but very friendly. Omri was a polite and intelligent young boy and Liza was very helpful around the house. When they checked out, they left me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. They were a pleasure to host and are welcome back any time. The next time I'm in Israel I will definitely give them a call.
