Hi all, welcome to Patong Beach, Phuket. Look forward to welcoming you soon to stay at my place.
In fact I didn't see rainy at all, but others helped me in many things, I enjoyed my stay at the room, and also extended so easly. The only problem in this room is its not available for those who can not sleep in noise or before 5 am daily, its really located in the middle of bangla road where the noise begins at 10 pm till 5 or even 6 am daily. Any way it many advantages as well, cheap, near to the beach, clean, not small, comfy clean bathroom, its very recommended for singles.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
VERY NOISY! it is about 100 metres from the main strip of nightclubs so only stay here if you plan on joining the revelries until 5am. The room is otherwise nice and spacious although the floor wasn't entirely clean as you'd expect for what you pay since the owner runs a busy shop. You can get carefully fitted suits there at New Era Fashion at competitive rates. There was a fault with the hot water on arrival but it was dealt with promptly. Towels, drinking water included and several English TV channels.
You get what you pay for! 64 steps to climb thru dirty hallways and questionable neighborhood. EXTREAMLEY LOUD MUSIC until 4am that made windows rattle and pulse through your body. The room was almost clean, nice host, had to request TP and a towel. The AC didn't work great, TV sucked and NO hot water as advertised. Maybe if you're young 20's you would enjoy this, we booked for three night's and left after the first night, still waiting for a refund. Oh forgot to mention the gunshots we heard during the early hours. I would not recommend this place because of the location, we had no idea until we arrived.
Hi all .. The place was ok for the price didn't expect more... When I got there no tv no hot water as promised ... So the brought and old screen and left it by the door the whole period I stayed no hot water ... I asked for toilet paper and no one cleans the room..don't think will come back there I bet I would have found in the same area some thing for 600 baht better
The location is prime. Right in the middle of Bangla street. Very near to Patong Beach. Had good time there. Had water shortage issue one night. Overall its worth the price
Great location, friendly host, and the room was clean compared to other placed I've stayed at in Thailand. A bit loud until late at night, but that's pretty much what you expect at Bangla Road.
Brilliant stay in a couple of Rainy's flats :) He was able to confirm my reservation within minutes of a late night request, then sorted an alternative room the next night when I decided to extend since the initial spot was booked. Great communication, great value & excellent location. Thanks Rainy!
If you know what Patong Beach and Bangla Rd. are about, and you are not put off by being in the center of it, this room is a pretty great place to stay. A/C works really well. Not the place for a quiet romantic getaway, this area is all about the nightlife, people-watching, and proximity to the beach/shopping/restaurants. Rainy, himself, is a truly decent person who runs a store in the same building.
Overall, I heartily recommend it, with a few caveats:
No hot water- not an issue for me because of how hot and humid Phuket usually is.
Power/water went out on New Year's Eve - Beyond Rainy's control, these things happen in emerging markets, and Rainy did his best to contact the appropriate authorities. All I can ask in that type of situation is that the host is aware and trying his best to remedy the problem- both of which Rainy did.
Noise - I didn't mind hearing the "untsa-untsa" beats from nearby clubs each night because I stayed out late and can sleep through most anything, but I understand not all people can.
This room/building is in the same lane as Rico's Hotel. So if you are taking a taxi or minibus, tell them that you are going to Rico's Hotel and alight there. You will see "New Era Fashion" a tailoring shop, and you look for the host there. Otherwise, his staff can help you with the check in too.
Remember to get your room key and the main door key. The main door is locked to avoid outsiders from entering the common corridor.
We were not given the room that we booked due to water leakage issues - tad disappointed. Hence, we stayed in the Blue room. It's at the 4th floor. There was no hot water and our host Rainy was reasonable enough to refund the rate difference. It's not a lot of money but it was fair for us as we did not get what we paid for.
The Blue room can be cosy when you close the room's curtains. We stayed for 5 days. One of the days, the water supply went dry. We were surprised but it did not bother us as we had a big bottle of water for brushing teeth and etc. On that day, we went out for a day trip. The host's staff also quickly get the building's water tank replenished.
Room cleanliness was okay - Please do not leave sweet food or any edible stuff openly as hungry ants will attack your room. There are many new soaps in the bathroom. Towels and blanket were supplied. Toilet paper were given upon request.
At night, the noise level from the pubs can be quite loud - definitely not for babies, kids or light sleepers. It did not affect us much as we were all too tired from our day activities. Afterall, we were staying in the heart of Patong Beach, Bangla Road, where most happening nights live! We love the vibe.
On the last day, I was down with severe food poisoning and Rainy is kind enough to extend the room stay for me to rest till we leave to catch our flight. We really appreciate this with heartfelt thanks even though I was too sick to speak properly before I leave.
Overall, the room rates are extremely affordable, it's okay without the water heater unless you are sick and needed to shower in warm water. The location is perfect for people who want to stay at the heart of the most happening area at Phuket. The good customer service and professionalism from the host and his staff has also made up for the initial disappointments.
Thank you, and happy new year to all of you!
