One in eight Americans are Californians. I am in that sun-loving, Pacific Ocean-swimming, avocado-eating 12.5 percent, although I am now preparing for a new phase of Life in New Haven, Connecticut. But otherwise, I’m generally a content cynic, happy in my pessi-realistic view of the world. Although I’m not impulsive, I believe in taking chances and there's not much that scares me. I love swimming farther, climbing higher and running faster. And trespassing. Especially trespassing. I like scanning brains, exploring new places and ending up in random places like NYC and Boston. Or Malaysia. I am financially independent and responsible. I take the 5-second rule loosely. I also have a penchant for uncomfortable subject matter. I walk fast.
I value intelligence, but I also value the ability to think and converse (unfortunately, intelligence is not always accompanied by these abilities). I am afraid of becoming one- or two-dimensional. Every once in a while, I slip into ruts where I find myself only having conversations about one or two things. Recently, those topics are grad school and photography/cameras. I do take a lot of pictures though.
The three words that excite me most are "Let's go somewhere."
