Overall great experience. Great location and view, clean how ever not very well equipped. We only had a few towels for a 5 day stay, no hand/floor towels etc.
I have traveled extensively and used airbnb frequently. Three of us (young professionals) stayed here for 5 nights in August 2012. I want to leave honest feedback for future guests.
The Good: The location is excellent. It is less than 5 minutes from the Chinatown station on the Millennium/Expo line and about 15 minutes from the Vancouver City Center station on the Canada line (the one from the airport). The two bedrooms (one bed in each room, a closet, 2 towels) and living room matched the listing. Note that warm days are somewhat uncomfortable on the 20th floor and AC is not available, but during our stay only one day was uncomfortably warm. A small info sheet is included on how to use the unit (e.g. wifi password), which I find immensely useful. In the bathrooms, shampoo and body soap is included. Laundry detergent is available. Lovely view and a balcony to boot! The hosts even allowed us to hold our luggage in the storage room on our check-out day (we cleared out of the unit before the check-out time).
The Bad: Note that the hosts may have addressed this issue. On check-in, our host told us directly if anybody asked that we would respond, "we are friends of Eric and Isabella". At that point, I did not think much of it. On our second night, our key fob (which provides access to the floor on the elevator) stopped working. It turned out the building management turned off access because short-term leases are not allowed without a $100 fee (which the hosts were trying to avoid). Unfortunately, the hosts were out of town (I did not know this) and finally after a 4 hour ordeal (involving multiple phone calls, a lease agreement that we signed, negotiation with the host, cancelling our evening plans, interrogation whether we had said "anything"), we finally gained access to the unit.
The rest of the stay was perfect and no other issues arose. The hosts were apologetic about the experience on our check-out day, but their consolation I felt was inadequate for the distrust in the relationship and failure in access. The hosts did offer $20 for the roaming mobile phone calls and a ride to the airport.
We had a great time in Vancouver/Richmond! Our apartment was upgraded to newer apartment with a pool and a fitness in the residence, only few street far from the original one. It takes about 20 minutes by Skytrain to the centre of Vancouver. The neighborhood is pleasant and claim. We also enjoyed local restaurants and shopping centres. Thank you!
The location was nice. Very close to the SkyTrain, good restaurants and shopping. The building is nice with amenities that include workout room, small playscape, courtyard and parking. The condo itself was nice but can be small if more than 4-5 people are staying there (we were there with 4 adults and a toddler and it was fine). Very basic amenities in the condo (1 towel per guest, no hand towels, industrial sized shampoo and body wash, basic cable tv, could have been cleaner before we arrived, only 1 key was available for our use), but since we were out and about exploring Vancouver, we were able to overlook the lack of "luxuries". With that said it was still a mostly comfortable experience thanks to a nice balcony, w/d, and modern kitchen.
We had a wonderful time in Vancouver, thanks in part to our great condo. This condo's location is amazing, with a spectacular view of the Science Center, Rogers Arena, BC Place Stadium and False Creek. The central location makes it so easy to travel anywhere you want to go. And with Costco right downstairs, we had all the food we could want. The indoor pool was a hit with my kids. We were in it everyday. The same goes for the gym.
The beds are very comfortable. We were well rested when we flew out. The condo has a lot of closet space and a nice bathroom.
Don't plan to do very much cooking here. The kitchen is fine, but there are few pots and pans, and even fewer utensils. I went out and bought some hand towels and a coffee mug because there weren't any there.
Overall, it was great and we would rent it again!
The location of this condo is excellent. Just as you see in the photo, the view of the False Creek area is outstanding. You are just a 5-10 minute walk from Gastown and Canada Place, and there are plenty of shopping and dining options in the area. This is a nice neighborhood, so nothing to worry about if you decide on a midnight stroll.
The condo is a 2 bedroom/1 bath arrangement. The bedrooms are tiny, with barely enough room to walk around the beds. That's not a knock on this property; it's a new condo and very nice. It's just in a high-dollar area, so the square footage comes at a premium. The most important thing is that it's much more comfortable and less expensive than getting a couple of hotel rooms. It has a nice kitchen, dining area, and living room.
I went with my kids and my wife's parents (six people total). We all enjoyed the indoor pool and sauna area; it's very nice. They have both a steam sauna and a mist sauna. Also a hot tub. The facilities are new and nice. The condo itself was pretty tight for six people, though. The fold-out couch in the living room is comfortable for only one adult. I'd say the capacity of this condo should be rated down to 4 comfortable and 5 if someone wants to sleep on the couch. Also, the landlord only supplied four towels and not enough bed linens. Also, there wasn't a toaster in the kitchen (but there was a rice cooker!).
Overall we were happy with the experience there and would recommend it to anybody visiting Vancouver.
This was a great place to stay and was exactly how it was advertised. There is a great view from living room and kitchen of a waterway, the city, and BC Place Stadium. The bedrooms have limited space because of the big beds, but were sufficient for our purpose. I would highly suggest staying here.
The condo is exactly as you see it in the pictures. The view and location are amazing, especially at night. If there are events happening at Rogers Arena or BC Place, you couldn't ask for a better location. There was construction at Rogers during the day, but closing the windows muffled the noise until we were ready to venture out. Night noise wasn't a problem. The beds were very comfortable, but the pull out couch wasn't the best and we couldn't find blankets for it. I never spoke to Isabella in person, but Eric and David were very nice and helpful. Language barriers made it a little hard to catch everything. We never figured out how to use the internet or the intercom to let each other upstairs. It would be helpfull to clarify that at the beggining of your stay. Overall, great experience. We will be sure to consider it again when back in Vancouver.
Due to unforeseen events, upon our arrival our room in this house was unavailable. Our hosts were extremely apologetic for the inconvenience and where quick to offer us compensation in the form of an upgrade to a nearby townhouse. Before checking us in at the new accommodation we were given a tour of this very beautiful house. It has plenty of amenities and a variety of different common areas for lounging and relaxing. The townhouse was very nice as well, and although it was not as luxurious as the house, it was very nice to have the extra space to ourselves. Over all we were very happy with our stay and with our hosts’ gracious nature. We are hoping to return soon and experience this beautiful house more completely. Hosts are definitely recommended, regardless of which of their properties you stay in.
