Great cottage. Kids loved the horses. Plenty of room for us and our three kids. Enjoyed Doolin.
The host gave me directions when I was lost, and followed up with a text to make sure I arrived safely.
A 100+ year old cottage with fantastic Irish charm! Couldn't be in a lovelier setting!
Exactly as described, very comfortable for our stay, couldn't ask for more.
Merely an adequate house in the outskirts of doolin. Dont stay here if you're planning on walking to the pubs! In this day and age and in comparison to other airbnb reviews, we weren't blown away with a feeling of being made welcome, but rather bombarded by the house rules, which are to be found in the "welcome pack" and in the many emails I received before arriving! They were pretty extensive! Having said that, house is clean and tidy. Could do with some sprucing up to make the place more attractive. Whoever took the photos did an excellent job as it's certainly not that bright and airy inside! When the fire was lit the place was a lot nicer. The fire was its best attribute by far!
Getting to the cottage and our arrival was easy. We got slightly lost but the contact information and getting the keys was easy once we found our way again. The cottage warmed up quickly and was well equipped. Our son loved hanging out with the horses that would come up to the stone wall in the back garden to eat some grass he picked for them. The cottage is well situated to explore the coast and the cliffs. We took a boat trip to the Aran Islands that is well worth the trip. It was a lovely place to call home for 2 nights on our family break and we would happily return.
We had a wonderful time at the cottage. It was incredibly quiet, which was exactly what we wanted, and we really felt like we were enjoying the rural Irish lifestyle. Very much enjoyed feeding carrots to the horses who live across the back fence, too! But don't expect WiFi or cell phone reception.
Our hosts, at Abhaile Cottage, were very helpful before we arrived and made sure we had all the information we needed to find the place, get the key and settle in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is ideal, between the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. Everything we wanted to see and do in the area was very convenient. Pubs and shops are close by, as well. The cottage is exactly as it looks on the website, very cozy and comfortable. We loved meeting our neighbor and keeper of the key, Ted McCormac, and hearing him play at McGann's Pub. We enjoyed meeting our other neighbors, too, the horses and cows, who were very friendly and curious. The place was perfect for us.
It was a beautiful stay. The house is lovely, the horses behind very friendly, I have nothing to say, it was perfect!
