Studio Walk was not available once we arrived but Bill put us up in another studio for one night and then upgraded us to a 2 bedroom. We basically used it for sleeping only as our other family was staying elsewhere and we used their kitchen for cooking. This place had a nice layout and a beautiful view of the ocean. My only issue was that there was only 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels. Not sure if they were suppose to provide or if I could have asked the onsite manager for more. Not a big deal, as we just got some of our own. Thanks for a great stay. We will definitely considering staying here again, the next time we are in Kona.
My family enjoyed our stay at Bamboo Hale. The home was renovated recently and was very well done.
The beds were comfortable, the Internet worked well and the water was hot! Everyone was happy :) It sure beats staying in a hotel!
The frogs definitely made their presence known, but we loved the sound, they put us quickly to sleep every night.
Their is a grocery store in Honoka'a, it is very well stocked but, as you might expect, a bit pricey. I would be sure to hit Walmart in Hilo or Costco on the Kona side before heading out.
The house was very cute and modern with everything we needed in the kitchen. The location was convenient for seeing Waimea area or Waipio valley.
The cleanliness of the house lacked in the "attention to details" category with a rather dirty floor. It's not Bill's fault at all, but the neighbors could easily be heard even when they weren't partying late into the night as they did Friday out on their lanai (which happened to be maybe 20 feet from our bedroom window).
Overall a nice house and location. We enjoyed hearing the sounds of nature outside our window through the night.
We stayed at the Waipio Art Gallery. It's a great place right next to the beautiful Waipio Valley near Honoka'a. There isn't much else around, however, so if you are trying to explore the north of the island you may be better off staying closer to Waimea. The place itself was pretty nice--Bill leaves you clear instructions for entering the apartment and gives you access to the Roku/Netflix there.
One thing to watch out for: We stripped the bed, etc. at Bill's request and found out we had been sleeping on moldy pillows! Not a great thing to wake up to in the morning, but otherwise we enjoyed this place for the one night we spent there.
Host was great, organized and responsive!
We had a very pleasant easy stay in Kona. Thank you!
Had a great week staying there! The place was quiet and in a good location. I had everything I needed while staying there, coffee pot and mini fridge etc.. Would stay there again & would recommend it to friends.
This is a bit of a hidden gem! You get a whole 1 bedroom apartment, which is clean, comfortable and fitted with everything you could possibly need.
The instructions were clear and easy to follow on how to access the apartment. There were plenty of towels and bedding.
One of the best parts was the TV in the living room was connected to Hulu and Netflix. So the evening entertainment was sorted!
The area is very quiet and perfect for visiting the Waipio Valley. The people in the shop shown in the main picture are super friendly and is a good place to grab a coffee and advice before you set out for the day. There is a very nice lady and her deep accented New York husband!
Highly recommend staying here.
Real nice place. Bill was always available via phone and text to answer questions. Easy to work with. The house had privacy, but also convenient location to town and airport. Highly recommended.
The house was very nice with excellent views and private. It would be nice if there where a few more amenities re: beach chairs, ice chest etc.... However there is a nice BBQ. Unfortunately the dishwasher was not working when we got there and Bill was unable to get it fixed in our two week stay. Which was a bummer since I brought my wife to HI for Mothers Day. All the dishes in cabinets where very dirty so we had to wash them all. Made me wonder how long the dishwasher had been broke. No compensation was offered. Since we paid a $50 cleaning fee I was a little disappointed. Coffee pot was not working when we got there either but Bill was nice enough to reimburse me for one i bought. I would stay there again but would want to be sure things where fixed. We cleaned everything the way it should have been when we arrived.
