Staying at Michael's studio in Santa Monica was absolutely perfect! We go there quit a bit, and found that the location was within walking distance to everything! We walked to Venice, The SM Pier, 3rd Street, and Main street is only one block away! Great restaurants on Main street. We really liked the location of this studio because it was in a clean neighborhood, it was the perfect size for what we wanted, and it was quiet. Michael is a superb host, that is easy to communicate with, and very helpful with recommendations for dining, things, to do, etc. Loved this place!! Thanks Michael!
We had a great weekend in Michael's home. It's very clean and comfortable - a good size for 4 people. When we ran into an issue, Michael responded to us immediately and took care of the problem. The house is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Parking is also easy. Thanks, Michael!
First time using Airbnb and we were a bit skeptical but Michael and his house wowed us. I was impressed to see that the house was just like the pictures.
Excellent cleanliness and the bedding experience rivaled any top hotel. My girlfriend really appreciated that all bathroom amenities were supplied; the oatmeal body soap, hairdryers/shower caps were a big plus. I appreciated strong WiFi throughout, Bose audio and extra-large bathtub.
We had guests over for dinner and had a great evening outside in the very private backyard that opens directly to the large kitchen—helpful for bringing food in and out.
Parking was easy with garage space and two additional spots in the driveway but the convenient location and provided bicycles meant that we barely used the car.
Architecturally impressive with great light and attention to detail including instant hot water and reverse osmosis water purification.
Highly recommend and exceeds expectations. Hope to host a larger dinner party here in the future.
Amazing place, we had such a great time. The location was perfect, it was cozy, clean and welcoming. Thank you Michael!
The apartment was immaculate and very comfortable and well appointed, and Michael and Steve were attentive hosts. It was also very quiet and easy walking distance to Lemonade restaurant and Ralph's and Bristol Farms supermarkets. I recommend the cafeteria and prepared foods sections of Bristol Farms--there was a huge variety and I had some delicious homemade takeout meals.
The apt had a microwave, coffeepot, electric kettle and fridge, so I had no trouble making meals. The only negative for my monthlong stay was no toaster, stove, or kitchen sink, but I managed to work around that. The assigned parking spot and free laundry facilities were also much appreciated, but if you rent a car, be aware that the space is narrow. Try to get the smallest car you can. My rented Mazda was a tight fit.
I have had a fantastic stay at this beautiful place. Check in went very smooth despite the fact I arrived late. Spacious house with very good equipment. Good beds. Nice garden to sit in to enjoy the sunshine. Also the available bikes were a big plus. Very near the beach and Abbot Kinney.
My mom and I went back to LA for a visit (I used to live there for a long time). this apt was perfect. so much more affordable than a hotel. Michael was so nice and helpful. I loved riding the bikes that were provided to ride down to the pier and strolling down Abbot Kinney at night to eat at Gjelina or one of the other many fabulous restaurants. Will definitely stay here again!
My husband, son, and I recently stayed in this lovely home in Marina Del Rey for a week. It was perfect! We loved the design style of the architect owner, the neighborhood, access to cycling paths, and proximity to LAX. In addition, unusual for vacation rentals, the kitchen is well equipped; good knives, large pots, and plenty of wine glasses and dishes. The house is exactly as pictured - you will love it!
Clean, modern and in a wonderfully central location -- we got quickly into the habit of walking down Abbot Kinney to hang out, or even to the beach! Michael is super-friendly and anxious to be accommodating which makes everything easy. If you want to be in the "thick of things" in a cool part of Venice -- enjoy!

Michael was a great guest. Though a relative local, I had the chance to show him the best of the East side of LA and he was really psyched to explore the hood. He was clean, respectful and took good care of the back house. Definitely someone I'd love to host again and hopefully stay at his place next time!
Michael booked the unit for is guest Amy. She was a very happy
Michael and I grew up together on the same dead end street in the suburbs of Boston. I've watched him grow up from being an active kid on rollerblades to being a sharp, driven entrepreneur. He's a stand up guy and has been a huge help in getting my airbnb endeavors off the ground. He also loves meeting new people and showing them what LA has to offer.
Mike is awesome, a great friend outside of AirBnb, and does a tremendous job for his guests!
I have worked with Michael and during this time we've became good friends. Michael is a gentleman and a pleasure to be around. From his real estate background he is especially knowledgeable about the Santa Monica and LA area.
I would highly recommend Michael's place to anyone visiting and looking for a great value in a place to stay.
I met Michael in early 2011 while cycling up PCH to Malibu and have been hanging out with him ever since. Michalel is an avid cyclist, and I have gotten much more interested in the sport through this friendship. He is a very social guy, and easy for anyone to get along with. He has a real estate brokerage license and his family invests in several apartment complexes throughout the US, so this should give everyone additional comfort in renting a room from him. I also know that he furnished this room in January, so the room will be essentially brand new. Also, from what I have seen from Michael, he keeps his apartment very clean and has a friendly dog to hang out with.
I can also vouch for the location of his apartment, as my wife and I live less than a block away at 4th and Ocean Park Blvd. You can't find a better location in Santa Monica. You are just a few blocks from the beach. Close enough to enjoy, but not too close so you encounter the riffraf that you might see a little further south close to the beach in Venice. You are also walking distance from tons of local restaurants and shops on main street, yet far enough away from the Santa Monica pier to not feel like a tourist. The main street shops and restaurants basically extend from Urth Cafe at Hollister down to Rose Cafe on Rose st, which is all easily walkable.
Michael is a co-worker of mine who quickly became a friend to not only me, but everyone in the office. He is professional, yet down to earth and outgoing, and has a great sense of humor. He has become a trusted, valuable contact to myself, our peers and even my superiors!
