I am a retired audiologist, married for 23 years to my husband who has "retired" from the National Park Service. we have three young adult/older teen-aged sons. Two are attending Michigan State University and our 17 year old "baby" is spending the year in Finland on a Rotary Exchange~ We have a small lapdog, a mix of Chihuahua, Pomeranian and Pekinese . She is more like a person than a dog, she is extraordinarily well behaved, better than some children :-) (even our own LOL )....yes, she is my baby girl, her name is Una ( first girl in Finnish)...she goes everywhere with us and loves to travel, ride in the bike basket, walk everywhere and be with her "people".

This is our first year of retirement and we are looking forward to exploring !!!! We love the outdoors. hiking, biking, traveling and relaxing. We enjoy good food and good wine :-), meeting new people and exploring new areas. We are looking forward to new adventures and are very excited to begin this new stage of our lives.

We enjoy reading, movies, quiet areas with access to "city" life...if we feel like evenings out. We enjoy museums, parks, bike trails, hiking trails, shopping, good restaurants, trying new cuisines and quiet evenings at home. We like being immersed in the culture of the areas we travel to. We don't like chain restaurants or malls, we prefer "mom and pop" businesses, local wines, experiencing the areas we travel as the locals experience them. We prefer to patronize local businesses, shop farmers markets, craft exhibits, locally owned establishments are fun for us to explore and get a true feel of the area we are visiting.

We are new to Airbnb and are thrilled to be able to find nice accommodations provided by individuals who love the areas they live. We live the the area which was just voted the most beautiful place in America~ Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore~ we love our home base but love to get away and experience the beauty, culture and lifestyle of new environments.
