Carles was very helpful through out the booking and during the holiday. We have an 8 month baby and he very kindly arranged a travel cot and high chair. He even booked a cab for us on our departure to the airport.
The flat was very nicely decorated/fitted, with a lovely outdoor area. The kitchen was stocked with useful condiments. Location is good and close to some really nice restaurants.
The only negatives for us were that as the bedroom is at the front you can't open a window so it did get stuffy. We also had a few nights bad sleep due to load music from the flat above, and banging from the next door. There is no TV as stated which didn't bother us.
Overall a nice stay.
Gracias Carles !
I felt so welcome in Carles and Olga's flat! I travelled to Mallorca on my own for a mini-vacation, and arrived a bit late at night. Carles and Olga were there to welcome me, with great conversation and some terrific advice about where to go in the city for the best restaurants and fun things to do! The flat itself is very vintage and eclectic, which I love. It is filled with warmth and you can definitely tell that there is some history in the pictures and artifacts in the flat! I loved all of the books and pictures. The rooftop deck is spectacular, and is so peaceful in the afternoon and evening, to watch the world go by, and have great views of the Palma Cathedral, the sea, the mountains and several surrounding churches. I really loved staying here, and I really enjoyed spending a little bit of time with Carles and Olga.
I will say that if you are expecting a 5 star hotel or "non-personal" kind of experience, this flat will not be for you. It is a home, and it has been lived in, and is very comfortable - but if you are looking for a place with every modern day amenity, it's not here. I loved it for that very reason - the city of Palma is old and wonderful, and should be experienced like a local. But please be aware that if you're looking for a party place, or someone to be waiting on you hand and foot, this won't be it. Otherwise, I highly recommend it and also Carles and Olga as hosts. Palma is magical, as is Mallorca as a whole. Thanks so much!
Carles was great, always available and he was quick to respond to messages.
The apartment itself is lovely, with a great patio which was a lovely quiet spot for a drink before dinner. The apartment itself is really warm but there are two big fans to help keep you cool. The bed was really comfy and the bathroom was lovely with a good shower (good water pressure although it takes a bit to get the temperature right!). There was plenty bits and pieces in the kitchen we could help ourselves to; oil, vinegar, butter etc.
The location is perfect for getting around Palma, close enough to walk to the centre, Cathedral and port within 10-15 minutes. I'd recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a quiet, residential area to enjoy as a base for their holiday.
Carles’ flat is beautiful and charming, with a great creative vibe to it and full of narrative micro-displays that made us smile daily. The decor is a very cool mix of "Mediterranean Vintage meets Williamsburg", with an amazing, huge double bed. It was our first time in Palma and the experience of staying in the flat greatly contributed to a wonderful trip!
We spent our evenings on the roof terrace, enjoying the amazing view over the sea, rooftops and cathedrals. The location is equally close to the center of Palma and the beach, but though it's only minutes walk from lively, funky bars and restaurants, the flat is incredibly quiet at night. It was very hot while we were there, but the open windows blew a soft breeze throughout the apartment and the electric fan helped us cool down during the nights.
All communication with Carles was fluid and easy and he kindly let us check-out late on our day of departure.
If you want a generic hotel experience, with a bland, predictable interior, then this flat is probably not for you. However, if you appreciate creativity, quirkiness and the beauty of the unexpected, then you will probably never want to stay anywhere else when you are in Palma.
We will certainly be back!
Relly nice to meet you! :)
Thanks so much for your present

Carles is very friendly. He adviced me some good pubs, restaurants and spots to visit.
The appartment is very nice, in the center of Palma. You can do a lot of things by walk but it is also close to the bus station to move around the city.
And concerning the roof terrasse, you can have your breakasts, dinners or chill out with a nice view on the sea, roofs and cathedral!
I spent an enjoyable holidays.
The apartment was largely as described, it is central, 10 mins from the beach in one direction and 10 mins from the Cathedral and town centre in the other. It's a good location with lots bars and restaurants close by and some stunning churches. The food hall at El Corte Ingles on the ring road is 15 mins walk and by far the best supermarket. The best feature of the apartment is the roof terrace which is unfortunately not pictured in the Ad.
Carles is very nice if a little uncommunicative. We got a message the day before our flight saying he was at work until the afternoon of the day we arrived. We had to wait for him in a bar for 3 hours before he could meet us. When he did arrive it was to tell us he needed to go and pick up his daughter from school so we had to wait another 20 mins. Luckily jugs of Sangria are cheap in the lovely Bar C An Salat opposite the apartment.
Whether you find this apartment good value will depend on how much you pay. We stayed at the height of season in August and paid £800 for a week for 4 adults. For the price we were disappointed that the 2 single beds in the second bedroom are fold-away beds and really only suitable for children. The living room is spacious but there is no sofa, it's more of a large dining room with a couple of arm chairs. We had to ask for glasses and t-towels and buy soap and other bits you would normally expect to be provided.
We had a nice time staying here but the lack of air conditioning in August, average temp was 35C, was a problem. It is also noisy at night with the windows open so several of our party did not sleep well. Other reviews have described the apartment as rustic, I would say basic - electricity wires hanging from the ceiling and bare lightbulbs for instance. You should also be aware that the apartment is on the fifth floor and there is no lighting on the stairs.
Apologies to the next people who stay in the apartment as we managed to break to door on the washing machine on our last day. It's a rather delicate, old machine and Carles confirmed this is not the first time it has been broken, so be careful. We're currently negotiating how much we are to pay toward it's repair.
We wouldn't stay here again but it is a nice, if basic, base for exploring Palma.

Carles was very helpful kind and we had no trouble getting to the flat or in the flat. The location is fantastic as is the view from the terrace just one floor above.
However please be warned that as the flat has no air conditioning it gets very hot and there is only one fan to go around! Also the flat is on the main road, so it can be loud throughout the night.
Overall the flat does says what it does on the tin - it's in a good location, it is spacious and has a good view over Palma. Carles is a good host and helpful.
Carles is a very friendly host, his flat in Palma is lovely. We felt at home from the first moment on. The apartment is situated in a nice neighborhood with lovely old buildings, close a lot of interesting spots. The roof terrace is amazing! Hope we will have the opportunity to come back one day ...
Carles was a good guest, sociable, friendly and very polite, was a pleasure to host. Will always be welcome in my apartment.
Carles and his wife stayed 2 days at home. They were nice and flexible! It was easy communicate with them and i appreciate the little gift they let when they left the flat. Thank you !
