Found this apartment last minute on the weekend of the Chicago marathon. What luck. Good location (although we had a bit of a time finding the entrance with a car the first night - didn't print out directions), great amenities, very gracious and warm host. Made it very easy to settle in. Quiet space, nice bed, everything we needed as a home base. I wouldn't have called it a luxury space (that makes me think super high end everything), but it was tastefully decorated, nice furniture, really nice towels and bed linens, and a great value.
Wish I'd read more closely Norma's description of the car-sharing option in the garage downstairs, because that would have been much better than parking a car overnight at $34/day.
Had the weather been warmed we would have used the park more, too. It had a great playground (disabled accessible swings, rocking boat platform and other parts!), and I think even a little enclosed dog park. The cafe downstairs was just what we needed, too, with good coffee to get us moving in the mornings.
Would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment very much. We particularly liked the neighborhood, which has great amenities (particularly the Mariano's grocery store) and is quiet and clean. I appreciate Chicago's grit, however,it was nice to come home to a modern, refined neighborhood, a haven in the big, noisy city.
Norma's place was excellent. It's located in a little cove-like setting right in the heart of it. A beautiful local park right outside the doors for the other cove-like residents, fit with a great steakhouse and a gourmet/boutique grocery place. Norma's bldg was clean with 24-hr concierge, a gym, etc. The apt was light with a view to the elevated pedestrian path just outside. Also, Norma was able to accommodate me on very short notice.
Had a great time there. Next time I'm in Chicago will definitely be checking to see if Norma's place is available. Highly recommended.
Norma's apartment was great! It was spacious, very clean, reasonably priced, and in a great location. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone staying in downtown Chicago.
The apartment is great, it has all the things you would wish from a good hotel, except of course, room service. The location is perfect, specially for us that went to Lollapalooza....you just have to walk three blocks to the festival. Norma was a great host, very kind, she even left us some food for our arrival. We look forward to return there, it was just an amazing experience.
Our stay at Norma's place was great. She left keys for us and the doormen let us into the apartment. She left Chicago guide books out for us and was very quick to respond with any questions we had. We would absolutely stay at Norma's place again. Thanks for everything!
We had a great experience staying at Norma's place. We were coming from Germany and needed a place to stay for a week while we looked for a more permanent solution. Norma's place was clean, had alot of great amenities and she constantly made sure everything was going well for us. I would recommend anybody looking for a place to stay to check our this place and stay if you can. The location is great and you'll have a great relaxing time!
Found the AIRBNB site online while looking for hotels in Chicago. Normas APT looked awsome. Norma meet us at the location upon arrival and gaves us a tour of the building as well as a few pointers on the city. Her place was amazing. Just walking distance to Navy Pier, Millinium Park, Michigan Avenue and more. I would highly recommend Norma as a host. In factt, I am already planning another trip and hope we can stay there again.
Fantastic location, an easy walk to the bus on Michigan Avenue (and a little longer but still easy walk to the L trains). Only three blocks from Grant Park, which was a great bonus since the Chicago Blues Festival was going on! You could see the Navy Pier fireworks from the back porch, and the weather was fantastic!! Thanks Norma!
Great place, great host! Best deal I've EVER. I'll definitely book here again if I come to Chicago.
