Pietro was very helpful, always prompt to reply, give directions and advice. He kindly arranged for his parents to meet us and let us in.
Our host, much to our surprise, was not present. We WERE greeted by his father, who did his best to orient us regarding the workings of the site. The following morning, we met his mother, who had to come by to show us the secrets of how to work the malfunctioning washing machine.
She's such a pleasant lady and was able to give us proper help with the machine, as well as advice about the train schedules, since she works at the station,
But this site was offered to us as an "upgrade" from the one we had originally chosen, then could not use, for reasons we are still unaware of??? So, for our troubles, with the new choices, airbnb gave us a little added allowance for choosing another apartment.
We were disappointed with what we found. We couldn't touch the walls without having white paint residue smeared onto our skin or clothes. The place also has a pretty large mildew issue going on, especially with a large amount of mold growing in the shower.
We had a wonderful 2 day stay in Monterosso thanks to Pietro! The place was an easy 5 minute walk from the train station, very clean and comfortably slept our party of 4. The restaurant recommendations provided were excellent!
Our stay in Pietro's home was great for the 3 of us. Pietro's father checked-us in and explained everything in detail for a comfortable stay. Perfect location to beach, old town and hiking trail. Prior to check-in, Pietro provided a vast list of restaurant, internet and cafe recommendations. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you!
Pietro's place was quiet and convenient to everything and had all that we needed. Great location and we had such a lovely stay in Monterosso.
Pietro's flat is in an excellent location and a perfect base for exploring the Cinque Terre. It's compact but has everything you need!! Paid parking outside the flat for unloading luggage - a huge bonus - and the "24hour" carpark just at the bottom of the road! What more could you want?! :) and the Cinque Terre's beauty speaks for itself!
We had a wonderful time in Monterosso. Pertro's home made everything easy. It was a short walk from the station, without having to navigate steep hills for stairs. The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable. Pertro was easy to keep in contact with by email or text. Excellent location.
Good location, but not great. Only a 5 min walk from train, but 5 mins away from everything and off the beaten path. Key pickup was easy. Place is not very appealing from the outside and very basic on the inside, nothing fancy. Very little hot water which seems to be common. No wifi which is sometimes important when traveling.
We enjoyed our stay here in early September. The apartment is in a great location, just a 5 minute walk from the train station, and on a very quiet street (that said, it is close to the rail road tracks so if you are a light sleeper this is probably not the best location). It is a ground floor unit at the street level, so very easy to access. Meeting up with Pietro's father was very easy and he was very helpful. The information Pietro provided for restaurants and activities was useful.
Pietro was a great host, everything went smoothly. We spent beutiful days in Monterosso.
