Just starting to discover my traveling self after a lifetime in the Bay Area - I'm a diehard fan of sports, particularly baseball and soccer, as well as of music, dance, reading, writing, and yes, even musicals! I work in electronics retail and do a podcast about baseball, so I spend a lot of time doing the social media thing. (Less when I travel, though, obviously.)
When I'm traveling I tend to keep to myself, only because I like to stay out of people's way. I can live out of a suitcase to the point where the suitcase is almost the only space I take up unless I'm sleeping -- I'm pretty flexible, though; I can keep to myself and stay out of your way, or I can chat it up, hang out, and exercise my considerable social butterfly side. I like to try to create as little stress in my host's life as I can, because that's what makes a better experience for everyone!
As for a little about me...after a long time wishing I were traveling more, I finally hit a point where I caught myself saying, "Well, why AREN'T I traveling?" and so I've been flying around the US when I can get time away from the retail job, exploring and rediscovering places I've never been or never really got to see when I went as a kid. My coworkers always joke that I'm making up for lost time (or that I never get any work done!) but the experience has been incredible and I wouldn't trade it for a thing.
I graduated about two years ago as a Dance major. No one ever sees that coming, and I kind of love that - not a standard major for someone working in electronics. I also did a lot of work in theater tech, though when I graduated, I went full-time with the retail work I was already doing. This is probably why my iPhone follows me everywhere; between social media, music, games, following sports, deals for shows...I'm always trying to stay connected to my various interests, and I have a ton of fun sharing details of my latest travels with friends back home and around the world!
