Lana was present upon arrival to welcome me and get me set up for my week in Bermuda. I arrived on a holiday, and Lana was so gracious as to offer to pick up a few groceries for my time there as stores were closed upon arrival. :)
The apartment was cute and cozy, and is well equipped for one or two people. The location is excellent with just a quick walk to the Ferry or bus, or a quick 10 minute scooter ride into town. I had an excellent time and would return in a heartbeat.
Lana's Edgehill Manor is a winner. Everything indicated WAS there. Actually, the Edgehill Manor's fine free WiFi was not listed, and it worked perfectly. Being located just a few blocks uphill from the famous Hamilton Princess Hotel is ideal -- in terms of directions, and having lots of taxi cabs at the hotel always available. However, walking to Front Street's stores and restaurants takes only 10 minutes. I look forward to visiting Lana's charming Guest House again.
Great guesthouse for a stay in Bermuda.
Perfect basement apartment that was exactly as described! Little patio area was a nice touch. We did not get to meet Lana, but met her husband who checked in on us. Beautiful property! Conveniently located near the Ferry, so it was easy to take a trip into Hamilton. I wish we had a scooter because it wasn't close to much else. Elbow Beach was a much further walk than we (email hidden) was written it was 15 minutes, but it took us about 45 minutes.
We were in Bermuda when Hurricane Joaquin passed by the island. Lana was quick to reply to our questions and ensured we did not over react to the storm passing. Also, we were happy to be inland as all we felt were the intense winds and the hydro being out for 24 hours.
I would recommend that you get a bus pass or tickets right away as you will need to travel into Hamilton or another area to find a restaurant. The grocery store is a short walk from the house which is nice to have. The island is not pedestrian friendly in this area (not a complaint) so plan to take the bus or taxi everywhere, unless you are brave enough to rent a scooter.
Overall Lana is a great host, the apartment has everything you need and we have no complaints about the apartment.
Lana made our week in Bermuda easy by helping us in numerous ways, including recommending a taxi driver to pick us up at the airport. We also arranged to have him take us back to the airport at the end of the week. Both trips were like private tours of the island.
The first day we were there, Lana drove us to pick up some groceries, then into Hamilton. We didnt want to ride the scooters, and she suggested we get a bus/ferry pass, which was great for touring, getting places, and generally experiencing the people and places of Bermuda.
We were there the week that Hurricane Joaquin came through, passing 60 miles west of Bermuda. We lost Internet and power (for a day), but Lana drove us into Hamilton where she helped us get Internet access.
The apartment was great, a ground level home away from home beneath their very nice and extremely well-located home. We were a very short walk to the ferry and bus stops, and also to Lindo's grocery store and Fourways Inn, a restaurant where we had a fantastic Sunday brunch.
We liked being in Warwick and, even though we went into Hamilton a few times, we really preferred the neighborhood where we stayed. Be sure to take a walk on Salt Kettle Lane, a short distance from Darrell's Wharf, where you pick up the ferry.
Blue skies, great clouds, wonder breezes (even with Hurricane winds a day or two).
Good restaurant recommendations, grocery etc.
PERFECT BERMUDA GETAWAY! Lana and staff made my husband and I feel so welcome and comfortable at Edgehill. Our room was quaint and beautiful, and the grounds were immaculate. There was always somebody available to answer any questions, the booking process was easy and fast, and Lana is super organized. We recommend Edgehill if you're looking for a wonderful spot in Hamilton that is close to downtown.
Lana has set up a very efficient basement apartment in a nice neighborhood. It's clean, stocked thoughtfully, and everything works well. The ferry to Hamilton is convenient and a quick walk. The nearby supermarket is also a quick walk and is very modern. We opted to rent a scooter (from Elbow Beach Cycles--they were great!). A scooter makes seeing the many sights on the islands much easier, and Lana's central location is good for exploring.
We found the accommodation to be as described and were not disappointed. We stayed for 14 nights and greatly enjoyed the garden in particular - we were able to eat all meals outside as it was well illuminated at night. The aircon in the bedroom was a great asset with night-time temperatures in the order of 28 degrees.
Lana and her husband Chris were very helpful with information and the organisation of taxi's.
The location is great with the Hamilton ferry being only a few minutes walk away. The bus stop and supermarket were about 10 minutes walk.
Not being able to hire cars in Bermuda you will be reliant on buses, taxi's, the ferry or a hired motor scooter. However we hired electric bikes from Elbow Beach - they were brilliant and got us all over the island. Following a phone call they collected us from the apartment and took us to their premises and at the end of our stay collected the bikes which we charged up overnight.
Awesome accommodation!! Loved the place. Very relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely make use this place again.
