Very nice room. Clean and more convenient. So nice host
Both Kellie and Sheila were welcoming and very helpful with all my questions during my stay. It was my first time using airbnb, and overall, it was a great experience! I'd definitely stay here again during my next trip to Los Angeles.
Great place- plenty of information and all necessary amenities; the rooms are clean, interesting company and helpful staff. Only notable downside is that neighbourhood felt a bit iffy at night, but then most of LA felt like that!
I had a great experience at the hostel, as I was in LA attending E3 and needed a place to stay for the duration. Kellie was great with all communication prior to my visit, and went out of her way to make sure everything was ready and I was happy.
When I came to the hostel, all information was ready for me, my room/bed was ready and clean and the location was great.
Kellie and her staff were wonderful, and she even recommended a few restaurants and showed me options in terms of doing the touristy thing and how to get about.
The people I met at the hostel in terms of other people staying were great, and I made new friends during my stay.
I would recommend the hostel and also Kellie and her staff as hosts.
Its a great place to stay, with everything you need, and I look forward to coming back next year.
The host Kellie was very friendly and was very helpful. Had I needed anything I knew I could ask for her help. The listing was accurate and the pictures shown are accurate as well. I was very pleased with my stay.
Place is amazing. Very clean and organized. Kinda reminded me of the show Big Brother. There are common areas where everyone can hang out. There's even a backyard area for smokers. I liked the TV room because it was Game of Thrones season finale and I thought I was going to miss it, then BAM! Amazing HDTV in the TV room with HBO! The room I was assigned in was a double and roommate was clean. Rooms are clean and organized. Lots of signage and notes to help you navigate around the house. It pretty quiet and its not a "party house" area is not ghetto. The only thing that sucks about this place is PARKING. Street parking sucks so much. If you're planning to come back after 6 from driving somewhere, you are pretty much S.O.L. I was a little bit freaked out having to park 3 blocks away one night. Buy anyways, I give this place a 9/10, minus 1 for parking. There is parking in the premises and I got lucky to park there 2 out of the 3 nights because it was open but I imagine those spots will likely be always taken.
Its a nice clean and affordable place to stay and its close to Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles.
Great Place. Close by to the financial district and downtown which is very convenient. Also a a great chance to meet people from around the world.
Nice place, so clean and Kellie is very gentle. good neighborhood.
Gramercy place is pretty perfect. It felt more as a bed & breakfast and less like a hostel. If you're looking for a party hostel with a bunch of corny themed nights then maybe this isn't for you, but if you're looking for a comfortable, clean environment then Gramercy is just where you need to stay.
Excellent for short, medium or longer stays. I have returned numerous times. It's a place where you're likely to meet some great people, but also spacious and private enough that you can always find somewhere to work, study or read. It's run by a super team; highly efficient bookings, immaculately well kept and very clean. Highly recommended.
I wish that I didn't live in LA so that I would stay at Gramercy Place. I've known Kellie and Sheila a long time now, back when we all worked at a hostel in Santa Monica. I'm honored to have been their colleague, but more so for having them as friends. I don't know anyone more catering, mindful and knowledgeable of LA than these two.
I've known Kellie for over a decade, as a colleague and a friend. I also stayed at Gramercy, and can say Kellie (and Sheila!) go beyond the call of duty in helping guests settle in and feel comfortable in LA. Gramercy Place has a communal, big-family kind of feel, and has plenty of facilities for cooking and food prep, or for just hanging out on the patio. I'm still friends, after many years, with many of the good folks I met at Gramercy.
And if you're really lucky, you'll find yourself there during one of their world-famous Gramercy BBQs!
[Warning: Kellie is a bit of a spelling snob and may correct you're grammer.]
I've known Kellie for more than 10 years now. We worked together for a while but it really wasn't until I moved away and she generously offerred for me to stay at her place when I was back in town that we became friends. Now when I get down to LA for a visit I'm generally coming with my husband and son so it's been great to stay at Gramercy Place and see her where she works. It's a very clean and comfortable place to stay. We love being able to cook our own food in the kitchen and meet folks from all over the world who are also at Gramercy. We highly reccommend it!
I've know the staff at Gramercy place for over 7 years now. I was one of the very first guests!! I stayed for 7 weeks, the first time and have been back to visit often. Kellie & Sheila are amazing women who keep this place running like a well oiled machine. It's clean, comfortable and they are very accommodating. The place is beautiful and they have put a lot of work fixing up and renovating the building. They also do many special things for their guests that no hotel would ever do; One year they threw me a birthday party. They invited all the guests in the building and we had a total blast!! They also often do special things for the guests on holidays, like Halloween or Thanksgiving. Gramercy is not your everyday, run of the mill, lodging place. It's a special place with very special and wonderful people who care about it. I highly recommend that you stay at Gramercy. You won't be disappointed!!
Gramercy Place is a real find in a city like Los Angeles! Kellie and Sheila work really hard to create a warm, inviting, safe and cooperative environment for all of their guests. They even put together BBQ's and dinners for all of the guests that stay there during all the big holidays. No detail is overlooked. It's clean and bright and VERY roomy with lots of common areas where you can enjoy the company of others or simply kick back and relax in solitude. And the price is RIGHT!! It's no accident that Gramercy Place has TONS of return visitors.
P.S> The pictures really don't do it justice...it's a really bright and beautiful place to stay.
