I loved staying at Gramercy; great price, great people.
I write for kellie before this eco de time I am stay in the hostel
I stayed at Gramercy with my really good friend for a week. We had our own room for the two of us and it had plenty of room. The beds and pillows are clean and so comfortable. Kelli and Sheila are so nice and was very helpful. The hostel feels more like home and very warm and welcoming. We didn't have a car so take lyft or uber. The bus is good as well. I would stay there again. It was great. I miss it already.
I am very happy to stay in kellie hostel it's nice place quite and neighbors very respectful for the privacy , I meet a lot off new people and different age , the bed its comfort and very clean all the rooms and the kitchens , bathrooms .
Kellie's place was excellent, cosy, so clean, perfect place to stay perfect location! close to cost, downtown and you can get easily everything you need! she is very nice and helpful. If I ever come in LA again I know where to stay!
It's very nice of Kellie to pick up my phone call immediately about how to get to Gramercy Place. I was lost in LA and unfamiliar with the place, but thanks for her help. Gramercy place's nice place to stay in, with very good facilities, and most importantly it's safe and clean, which travelers care mostly on. I wake up early at 5am and come back late around 11pm, but the house is somewhat near the main road, hence it's safe walking alone and getting to my car.
Also, I had a nice time listening to my roommate Jesse about her life story, it's a very rewardful stay for me in LA, for that this hustle and bustle city does not have a good chance to meet with people and chat with people. So I'm thankful for the 2bed-room I've chosen to stay in.
Last but not least, the only problem I found in Gramercy Place is about parking. Since i go out early and came back late, it's very hard to find nearby parking, even on street. I was wondering how to solve this problem, but truthfully it's rather difficult to find parking space at the area.
In conclusion, if the pricing is fine with you, i do suggest staying at Gramercy Place, and of course it's better if you do have your own transportation. Nice Place, with gratitude.
This is a really clean and spacious hostel. I stayed for 10 nights during March 2015. The wifi is a bit spotty, but I got a good connection in the TV room. Kellie is a great host, and she was very responsive to my questions.
Kellie was very warm and the place is splendid. I couldn't ask for a more safe neighborhood. If you'll be exploring the city without a car, this is a place to be. It is near Downtown LA, Sta Monica, Venice and West Hollywood. Expect to meet a lot of friends too if you'll be staying here. I've made new friends with people from all over the world and we even get to hang out with each other outside the house.
This was a solid place to stay during my first booking thru airbnb. Kelli and he other hosts were very friendly and accommodating, as were the other guests. I wasn't around f very much during the day, but overall it was a good experience. The only thing is that it's not in the greatest neighborhood and parking is a little iffy, but as long as you don't do a lot of walking around the area at night you should be fine. Good (and cheap) place to spend a few nights.
Excellent for short, medium or longer stays. I have returned numerous times. It's a place where you're likely to meet some great people, but also spacious and private enough that you can always find somewhere to work, study or read. It's run by a super team; highly efficient bookings, immaculately well kept and very clean. Highly recommended.
I wish that I didn't live in LA so that I would stay at Gramercy Place. I've known Kellie and Sheila a long time now, back when we all worked at a hostel in Santa Monica. I'm honored to have been their colleague, but more so for having them as friends. I don't know anyone more catering, mindful and knowledgeable of LA than these two.
I've known Kellie for over a decade, as a colleague and a friend. I also stayed at Gramercy, and can say Kellie (and Sheila!) go beyond the call of duty in helping guests settle in and feel comfortable in LA. Gramercy Place has a communal, big-family kind of feel, and has plenty of facilities for cooking and food prep, or for just hanging out on the patio. I'm still friends, after many years, with many of the good folks I met at Gramercy.
And if you're really lucky, you'll find yourself there during one of their world-famous Gramercy BBQs!
[Warning: Kellie is a bit of a spelling snob and may correct you're grammer.]
I've known Kellie for more than 10 years now. We worked together for a while but it really wasn't until I moved away and she generously offerred for me to stay at her place when I was back in town that we became friends. Now when I get down to LA for a visit I'm generally coming with my husband and son so it's been great to stay at Gramercy Place and see her where she works. It's a very clean and comfortable place to stay. We love being able to cook our own food in the kitchen and meet folks from all over the world who are also at Gramercy. We highly reccommend it!
I've know the staff at Gramercy place for over 7 years now. I was one of the very first guests!! I stayed for 7 weeks, the first time and have been back to visit often. Kellie & Sheila are amazing women who keep this place running like a well oiled machine. It's clean, comfortable and they are very accommodating. The place is beautiful and they have put a lot of work fixing up and renovating the building. They also do many special things for their guests that no hotel would ever do; One year they threw me a birthday party. They invited all the guests in the building and we had a total blast!! They also often do special things for the guests on holidays, like Halloween or Thanksgiving. Gramercy is not your everyday, run of the mill, lodging place. It's a special place with very special and wonderful people who care about it. I highly recommend that you stay at Gramercy. You won't be disappointed!!
Gramercy Place is a real find in a city like Los Angeles! Kellie and Sheila work really hard to create a warm, inviting, safe and cooperative environment for all of their guests. They even put together BBQ's and dinners for all of the guests that stay there during all the big holidays. No detail is overlooked. It's clean and bright and VERY roomy with lots of common areas where you can enjoy the company of others or simply kick back and relax in solitude. And the price is RIGHT!! It's no accident that Gramercy Place has TONS of return visitors.
P.S> The pictures really don't do it justice...it's a really bright and beautiful place to stay.
