The Hostel was very neat, cozy and everyone was welcoming. Very neatly organized, clean and spacious!
Beautiful place, well kept with sufficient amenities and facilities, a shame I only got to meet Kellie on my last day. I managed fine without her around for my first couple of days, a suggestion could be that the host could include a blueprint of the house and a small map of establishments in the neighborhood in the welcome letter that I received. Nonetheless, I had a great time there and would definitely recommend Kellie's place to family and friends in the future. With love from Singapore, (๑・ω-)～” .
I stayed here for a few nights while searching for a permanent apartment in Los Angeles. Kellie was super accommodating when my arrival schedule changed last minute (sometimes driving cross-country is unpredictable), and man was it a relief to arrive at Gramercy. The place is beautiful, my roommates were wonderful, and the living areas are so clean and well kept. This is a rare sort of place, especially in such a large city. I'd stay here a thousand times.
It was clean and fully equipped student house. I liked it generally. Affordable place to stay in LA.
I only met Kellie when I was checking out because of my hours. It was easy to get in and find my room. I was on a top bunk. The house is nice and clean. The guests were friendly and respectful. I felt safe in the area. I took the bus to downtown and had no one bother me. I would recommend ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise as they are one building from Pico. And the weather was very hot the days I was there, and being on the second floor, it was rather warm. They did have fans in the room, so that helped, but again, the ear plugs helped with that noise. It was fun to talk to the others staying there. I did have a problem that Kellie took care of right away. I would stay here again if I was in the area.
We were so surprised how great the hostel works! Everything is so simple and planned. It was very clean, the atmosphere was amazing and the area was good. Kellie and her friend were both friendly and helpful. I recommend this place to everybody!
Place and jost absolutely amazing! Everything else organized and women at the office very helpful! 5/5 stars !
Had a really nice stay. Room had air con and a fan which was great. Hollywood walk of fame only a hours walk from hostel.
cozy blanket and pillow
kitchen room was perfect for me to cook.
no air condisioning is only thing that you have to consider.
It is the first time I used Airbnb. It was a nice experience to stay in this place, both people working there as the other guests are very friendly and willing to help, advise if you have any doubt about which places are nearby.
the location is very convenient since one block away (on both sides) have one bus stop which is very useful.
if I go to LA again, I will definitely be back to this place
Excellent for short, medium or longer stays. I have returned numerous times. It's a place where you're likely to meet some great people, but also spacious and private enough that you can always find somewhere to work, study or read. It's run by a super team; highly efficient bookings, immaculately well kept and very clean. Highly recommended.
I wish that I didn't live in LA so that I would stay at Gramercy Place. I've known Kellie and Sheila a long time now, back when we all worked at a hostel in Santa Monica. I'm honored to have been their colleague, but more so for having them as friends. I don't know anyone more catering, mindful and knowledgeable of LA than these two.
I've known Kellie for over a decade, as a colleague and a friend. I also stayed at Gramercy, and can say Kellie (and Sheila!) go beyond the call of duty in helping guests settle in and feel comfortable in LA. Gramercy Place has a communal, big-family kind of feel, and has plenty of facilities for cooking and food prep, or for just hanging out on the patio. I'm still friends, after many years, with many of the good folks I met at Gramercy.
And if you're really lucky, you'll find yourself there during one of their world-famous Gramercy BBQs!
[Warning: Kellie is a bit of a spelling snob and may correct you're grammer.]
I've known Kellie for more than 10 years now. We worked together for a while but it really wasn't until I moved away and she generously offerred for me to stay at her place when I was back in town that we became friends. Now when I get down to LA for a visit I'm generally coming with my husband and son so it's been great to stay at Gramercy Place and see her where she works. It's a very clean and comfortable place to stay. We love being able to cook our own food in the kitchen and meet folks from all over the world who are also at Gramercy. We highly reccommend it!
I've know the staff at Gramercy place for over 7 years now. I was one of the very first guests!! I stayed for 7 weeks, the first time and have been back to visit often. Kellie & Sheila are amazing women who keep this place running like a well oiled machine. It's clean, comfortable and they are very accommodating. The place is beautiful and they have put a lot of work fixing up and renovating the building. They also do many special things for their guests that no hotel would ever do; One year they threw me a birthday party. They invited all the guests in the building and we had a total blast!! They also often do special things for the guests on holidays, like Halloween or Thanksgiving. Gramercy is not your everyday, run of the mill, lodging place. It's a special place with very special and wonderful people who care about it. I highly recommend that you stay at Gramercy. You won't be disappointed!!
Gramercy Place is a real find in a city like Los Angeles! Kellie and Sheila work really hard to create a warm, inviting, safe and cooperative environment for all of their guests. They even put together BBQ's and dinners for all of the guests that stay there during all the big holidays. No detail is overlooked. It's clean and bright and VERY roomy with lots of common areas where you can enjoy the company of others or simply kick back and relax in solitude. And the price is RIGHT!! It's no accident that Gramercy Place has TONS of return visitors.
P.S> The pictures really don't do it justice...it's a really bright and beautiful place to stay.
