Chris' home in Port Fairy is charming and gracious, with a nautical twist. The view over the ocean from the balcony is stunning. Chris was a wonderful host - warm, friendly and an excellent storyteller. If you visit, ask him to tell you about the time he acted as a courier for the Japanese Royal Family! I thoroughly enjoyed staying with Chris, and would highly recommend doing the same.
Chris was a great host. My parents and I had a great experience. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
We only stayed one night with Chris. He was welcoming, it was clean and as expected from the photos. The house is very close to the water, it was a very nice area. We were very happy from our stay in Port Fairy. Thank you
Thanks Chris for hosting us. Chris' place is neat and tidy. It's located next to the beach and it has a beautiful view. I enjoyed the sound of the waves throughout the night. He also showed us places to go around in Port fairy.
The only thing that was lack is no hair dryer provided.
Thanks Chris for the wonderful stay!
A hair dryer is on the way! Thanks for pointing out this lack Victoria
Chris est un hôte acceuillant. J'ai partagé deux repas avec lui pendant lesquels nous avons discuté de façon très agréable. Je recommande cet airbnb si vous passez par Port Fairy.
Chris is a very welcoming guest. I had great pleasure to talk with him when we shared diners. I recommand this airbnb to stay in Port Fairy which is a very charming little city.
Chris was welcoming and friendly. He had helpful advice about things to do in the area. Because the weather was cloudy and/or raining, we did not see the ocean views.
Basic but comfortable.
No guest specific facilities provided... towel? tea coffee... help yourself in the kitchen, but no milk available?
No breakfast... host not around when i left at around 7:30am?
Sorry I neglected to show you the guests towels Chris.
Chris was a great host and very helpful with all information we need along our journey. The place was nice very peaceful and relaxing. Worth the value.
Chris is an exceptional man who values the really important things in life...fairness, good honest hospitality and the beauty of the natural world. His house is crammed with fantastic nature reference books and some really fabulous artwork. The accommodation is comfortable but competely unpretentious.
We shared a couple of beers with him when we returned from eating at one of the local restaurants - we really enjoyed his company and admired his appreciation of friendship and the warm hand of hospitality he'd encountered when visiting some of his ancestors in Ireland...the same hospitality he extended to us. If you like meeting people who have more to share than a superficial welcome go and stay with him...he's a top bloke.
Port Fairy is a quite magical place and in our view Chris lives in the best bit..a little out of town in a peaceful area where most of the houses have a warm lived in look about them. Closer to town they are more manicured and beautiful but lack the simple appeal of the neighbourhood a kilometre down the coast.
I went for a swim at 7am - it was a joyous experience,..a cold wind blowing from the Antarctic, so you dive into the water to get warm - very invigorating, indeed envigrating.
