Eileen's apartment was PERFECT! My husband and I stayed at Eileen's apartment for almost 1 month.
- Great location. A 2 minute walk to Washington square/W4th street subway and Christopher Street/Sheridan Square subway (A C E B D F M 1 trains).
- Great food close by - Joes Pizza, Johns Pizza, Pearl, Five Guys just to name a few.
- Clean. I mean spotless.
- Comfy Queen Bed
- Good amount of space for a NYC 1bd apartment
- Strong and reliable wifi
- Shower had good water pressure
- Full kitchen facilities
- Safe apartment and area
The apartment is 8 flights of stairs up, and despite my poor level of fitness, I managed. Also meant that the apartment was quite (being higher up).
Eileen was an amazing host. We are AirBnB newbies and she was so patient with us. We were anxious and asked her a million and one questions and she patiently and happily answered each one. She also made sure to check-in with us to make sure everything was running smoothly and replied quickly to messages. She also gave us great tips for good eats and apps to use. Eileen was kind and genuine. It was a great experience. Thanks again Eileen!
Eileen's place was fantastic. The apartment was charming, communication was clear and easy, her bed was comfy, the bathroom and shower were great, and the space was super sunny and unbelievably quiet. On top of that, she lives in a marvelous neighborhood with great places to sit, eat, and hangout. I'd definitely stay here again.
Eileen was a fabulous host. We did not meet in person but she was very responsive throughout the booking process as well as our stay. Upon our arrival, we found she had left goodies including maps, food bars and chocolate. The apartment was just as pictured and described in the listing. The location was absolutely perfect. The only down side to Eileen's place is the number of stairs. Be prepared to tackle stairs- I believe there were about 10 flights total. This was fairly exhausting considering how much walking you do around NY. But I would stay here again- no doubt.
Our stay in Eileen's apartment was really fantastic. It is located in a great location in the West Village. Cornelia St is a sweet little street which has a small handful of beautiful restaurants and a cafe downstairs which we didn't try but seemed very popular. The small restaurant across the street called Home had beautiful food in a nice intimate and 'homely' setting. I think all food and drink are locally sourced. One night the street closed for a public live jazz concert. But the street still maintains a really quiet and lovely character. Just off Cornelia St is the famous Bleecker St with boutique shops and restaurants. Eileen's apartment is located near the subway but we found it easy to walk to Chelsea, Soho, Nolita, East Village and Upper East Side.
Eileen's apartment was perfect for us. I had jet lag so my friend had the bed (which she said was super comfortable) and I pulled out the sofa which was also very comfortable. Her place had a great feel...her place is so well furnished and her collections from her travels add a warmth to her place. Everything is very clean and well supplied and she even left us a bottle of wine for our arrival. The bathroom is modern & clean and the shower has very good water pressure. The rooftop is lovely, we cooked dinner and took it on the rooftop to enjoy the evening.
There are quite a few stairs to walk up which was fine but may not be ok for some older people especially if you have heavy suitcases. But otherwise the stairs are fjne and well worth it!
The apartment is very quiet (even though it is in a buzzing area).
Eileen herself was really lovely and easy to communicate with. She is very easy going and hospitable.
Highly recommend this place...
Wonderful & charming apartment! Amazing location - walking distance to everything. Very easy and accommodating.
I had a very Nice 27 days stay in this cosy appartment. It's quite inside, lovely at the roof deck, and very charming outside- the Village is like an adventure to explore. The host is very communicative and helpful!

Not quite sure where to start as everything about Eileen's apartment was so perfect for us. The two of us stayed for the month of May. We were Australian travellers visiting USA for the first time. As well as our first time using Airbnb.
The apartment is incredibly quiet, comfortable and welcoming. Eileen has an enormous sense of style so all that you would need is there. Great bath; comfortable bed; well-appointed kitchen + fascinating collection of books. No television which was not missed at all. There are small food markets close by for milk etc.
It was spotlessly clean upon our arrival so was easy to maintain during our month's stay.
There is a laundry in basement but easier to use laundromat over the road.
Walking out into Cornelia Street was always a treat. It is full of tiny, wonderful restaurants. Pearl Oyster cafe which is probably one of the best seafood restaurants around. Cornelia Street Cafe which has great food plus poetry readings & concerts.
Only a few minutes away from West 4th Street Subway station from where you can go almost anywhere.
Guess being 5 floors walkup could be an issue. But we managed quite easily and we are both in our sixties.
Rooftop garden is another magical feature. Wonderful views of Empire State Building plus One World Center Tower. Not a party venue it is just for relaxing.
So, I can highly recommend Eileen's apartment if you want a quiet, comfortable, very clean, apartment with soul in West Village.
Eileen was also a good communicator even though in Africa. One great tip she gave us was to use an app called Hopstop which made so much difference to our exploring. Her wifi is fast and reliable. Upon arrival in US we changed our sim cards to AT&T using a prepaid plan. So, able to use our iphone + ipad.
To sum up: perfect apartment as well as wonderful host.
Such a wonderful little apartment. LOTS of stairs but it was perfect and the roof top was fabulous!
Once upon a time...well the highlight of the story is when Eileen came into my life with her bright light, she is an amazing human being. Wherever Eileen is there is laughter, creative problem solving, positive thinking, genuine connections and life happening. In all aspects of her life, Eileen is engaged and thoughtful about her actions and decisions. For someone looking to rent her apartment the important point to you is: Interacting with Eileen is enjoyable, she has a sense of humor, great communication skills and she is always fair.
I have visited her apartment many of times and it has evolved over the years to this amazing oasis. Each piece of furniture, artwork, everything was thought about and chosen to create a space that is relaxing, vibrant and comfortable. Eileen offers a lot of love and it has transferred and it is felt in the apartment. There are other references about the location and what is around, it is a fabulous location.
In renting an apartment for a short time you want a sure thing and no hassles, this is that opportunity. Have fun!
I've been good friends with Eileen for many years; she is a generous person and an awesome host. Whenever I visit her in New York, I feel relaxed and refreshed. Her apartment is a gem in the West Village (which is one of the best neighborhoods in Manhattan). You're right by great shops, coffee, restaurants, and subway stops. Her apartment is well decorated and clean, and has an awesome kitchen and bathroom - very large for NYC. You'll be happy you picked Eileen's place.
I lived in New York City for 5 years - all over the place. Trust me when I say, "You'll be happy you chose to stay at Eileen's." Her apartment is amazing. It's full of light, quiet, and immaculate. It's a large 1 bedroom that is unusual in Manhattan, let alone the West Village. It's centrally located on a sought-after street. Amy's Bread and Murray's Cheese Shop are just a few hot spots just a doorstep away. Her building is safe and the people who live their are pleasant. I've stayed there numerous times. Eileen is generous, professional, very communicative, and respectful. You will not be disappointed.
This is a great apartment! Every time I stay here I wake up refreshed. It has a great feel to it and is incredibly quiet and sunny. On one of my favorite blocks in the West Village, you are steps away from some of the best restaurants in town. Eileen is super clean and conscientious as well - the perfect host. Enjoy!
As a former roommate and long-time friend of Eileen, I can say she is an amazing person who has a lovely apartment. She is the consummate host and will make your stay comfortable and relaxing. I have stayed in her apartment multiple times and find it an oasis in the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. And what a location! Act fact to get this place as I am sure it is in high demand.
Eileen's place is gorgeous, centrally located (for anyone doing business or traveling for pleasure to New York City). Her taste is impeccable, the colors and the quality of light in the space are joyful and inspiring. You can't find a more comfortable, safe, central, clean, ideal place in the West Village. She has taken the time to make the space feel like home. She has a high standard of comfort. I highly recommend anyone to rent her space for as long as she is making it available. It's quite beautiful, and the roof deck is a major added bonus. I have stayed there and always left feeling grateful and comforted. When there, you will find within footsteps, all the best restaurants, bars, cafe's, theaters, stores, parks, subways.... after a long day in the city, what more do you need? To feel at home in a beautiful, exciting place, and opportunities for city life at your doorstep.
