I travel often for work (a vintage business on etsy and a full-service interior design company called jersey ice cream co.) and love hosting interesting people as much as I can.

Percy's place is pretty dreamy, especially if you appreciate antiques and quirky flea market finds. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Percy, but he was a perfect host from afar, sending lists of local restaurants and other helpful tips. I would definitely stay here again, and again... Actually, can I move in? :)
I've done a lot of airbnb-ing, and i have to put Percy's place at the top of my list. His house is immaculate. Full of amazing antiques and flea market finds, but renovated in a way that provides pure comfort. We had a car, so the location was ideal. We had no issues with parking.
Dealing with Percy was another added bonus. He's a truly nice guy who was extremely accommodating and full of local restaurant tips. We got snowed in one night, and he even offered to comp us a free night.
I want to go back to Philly ASAP just so i can stay at Percy's again.
I stayed at Percy's/Tara's place for a few days. Percy and Tara are very friendly, the house is simply amazing, the rooms are beautifully decorated and the surrounding area is nice and cosy. Percy offered a number of great recommendations as well, which I highly appreciated (and enjoyed on numerous occasions). Overall a perfect experience. Thanks.
Percy's place is amazing. He made an incredible place and he's a really nice guy. What an awesome place to stay.
The hosts were easy going and not in the way.
The house was beautiful welcoming and cozy.
The beds were comfortable and the water is hot.
We felt like we were staying at a friend's home.
Thank you for a relaxing experience.
I especially enjoyed the claw foot tub and the fluffy towels!
LOVED staying at Percy's - we never wanted to leave! Gorgeous house with lovely bedrooms that provided just the right amount of privacy for we three ladies (we also rented the amazing master bedroom). Percy wasn't around, but he was very communicative and gave us a great list of restaurant recommendations. The only not-so-ideal thing about this place was that it wasn't particularly convenient for us to get to work in Center City, so we just took cabs ($10) or took a half-hour walk (wouldn't recommend young ladies walk alone at night, though). But the house itself definitely made up for that. We'd definitely stay there again!
Great rooms in a beautiful apartment! It seems to be in a Ralph Lauren mountain cottage! Conveniently located and few blocks from the famous cheesesteak shacks Geno's and Pat's!
We had a great stay at Parcy's place. The decor in the house is amazing, I have taken many tips to use at home myself!
Percy was very helpful with directions around the city and recommendations of local spots to eat/drink. Kitchen was very clean and well equipped, and beds of course very comfy!
Negatives: If you are planning on staying in the attic room I recommend you take an eye mask, there are no curtains so it gets very light in the morning.
There is no TV so if you want to spend an evening in make sure you have a laptop/iPad (Internet connection is fast).
All in all an enjoyable stay!
I enjoyed my three night stay in this lovely, quiet home and sincerely appreciated the interesting & rustic design details throughout. Percy and Tara kept to themselves and I only crossed paths with them briefly. The bed was extremely comfortable & I enjoyed the private bathroom as well as access to the deck and amazing rooftop (which were divine for catching a breeze and viewing the city, whether at night or in the morning.)
One thing to mention: the weather was unseasonably warm during my visit last weekend- high in the mid 80s!- and being from suburban Florida (aka the land of air conditioning) I wasn't expecting the lack of AC in the house. I opened the windows in the 2nd floor bedroom to cool things off a bit but returned to FL with a plethora of bug bites as there weren't screens on the windows. (I should mention that I'm usually the "lucky" one in a crowd that bugs tend to attack.) Screens are definitely an easy fix!
This home was an easy drive to the heart of the city and could even be a walk if you were so inclined. I never had to park more than a couple of blocks away when returning "home" in the evening, even on Saturday night.
Percy is a lovely host and his home his gorgeous. He sent me some great recommendations for eateries and activities while I was in Philly.
The guest bed was incredibly comfortable and the pillows so nice and soft, which is crucial for me as I'm a sensitive sleeper.
This was my first experience as a guest and I'm taking back some lessons as a host.
Percy is a great guest, very nice person and took perfect care of the apartment, I highly recommend him.
Very pleasant couple, friendly, easy going, appreciated what we had to offer. Great guests, would gladly host again!
Percy and Tara are fabulous guests, the type who are truly a pleasure to have around and you are sad when they leave.
Great couple, highly recommended and welcome back anytime. Thank you very much for staying with us.
Percy and Tara were great guests. We enjoyed talking with them at breakfast! We welcome them back anytime.
Percy and his girlfriend were a pleasure to have in our home. From the onset of their stay, they were great communicating their travel plans, kind and respectful of our home. We would highly recommend Percy to any airbnb host!
Percy couldn't be a nicer guy!
Percy and Tara were so much fun, we just loved them. Not only are they nice and considerate, they are very talented artists. Check out (website hidden). Amazing!
Percy and his girl friend were very nice guests. Even though they were only here one night, I would have them back.
I lived in Percy's gorgeous home for 2 months and couldn’t have asked for a finer roommate or house. His place is a beautifully restored home on a quiet (aside from the charming jingle of the Mr. Softee icecream truck in the summer) street in South Philly- walking distance from delicious restaurants, bars, and the city’s center and historic district.
Percy’s taste is impeccable- vintage treasures greet you in every room. All amenities are clean and updated. I was lucky enough to live on the third floor, where I had access to both a balcony and expansive roofdeck. My favorite part of the house is the lovely back yard garden, where you can sit and relax under a canopy of greenery. Perfect for a good book or a beer over a game of Scrabble.
Percy is an accommodating host and an even better roommate and friend. And if you are lucky, he might even cook you one of the most delicious meals you’ve ever had.
Percy's house is magical! You won't find another place in the city like this unique palace of vintage items and flawless restoration. Simply stay the night to be inspired!
Parking is easy, cheesesteaks are a hop skip and a jump from the front door, and center city is a simple cab ride away. From the times I've stayed, Percy has been a accommodating and gracious host. Highly recommended.
I have known Percy since 2008 as a schoolmate, co-worker, and pal. Can I add "Family Member" also?
With gusto, I give Percy & his Wharton Street dwelling the HIGHEST of recommendations. Every inch of Percy's home was restored & designed with an elegant quirkiness that inspires me with each visit. There is a new detail to discover in every nook and cranny, from the vintage theater seating in the kitchen to the curved wall moldings of the living room. I feel very very fortunate to have been a guest in this amazing space.
Additionally, Percy is a wonderful human being and fantastic host who will immediately set you at ease. Within minutes, you will most likely be swapping sarcastic puns and nibbling delicious brioche toast. Or just swapping high-fives in the hallway.
In a nutshell: An upstanding gent and the most beautifully restored home I've ever seen in real life.
