Born in Melbourne I have travelled quite a bit, and lived in London for five years in the late '70's and early '80's. I reckon Melbourne is great to come home to after travelling; it's accessible, cultured and funky ... a bit like me!
I am an artist making sculptural forms with lights inside, drawing all the time, from life around me, and painting. I have a studio at the Abbotsford Convent, close to the apartment, which is a MUST as a destination for visitors to Melbourne! There are a hundred other artists there, four cafes and a constant flow of delightful social activity. It suits me because I like to work into the evening, and there's always something to eat if I get hungry!
5 things I can't live without? Well ... a wide variety of well crafted music, fresh organic food, my bicycle and riding around Melbourne, Gaston Bachelard, my friends.
I take great pride in my city and totally agree with the people who voted Melbourne as the most liveable city in the world, and love sharing information that makes a visit here really special.
My life motto: The opposite of inspired is expired!
