i live and work in Lugano, Switzerland, but am also lucky enough to travel a fair bit in my job. in my own time, i love to travel and explore new places, cities, mountains, anything and everything!
i work in the fashion industry. my job that allows me to meet some great people, constantly exposing me to a whole host of influences and it always encourages me to seek out fresh and inspiring things.
before moving to Lugano, i lived in london for 7 years, which was a great base for culture, cuisine and good times. before then, i'd always lived by the coast. i'm very active; i love to surf, cycle, snowboard, hike and climb, as well as being a passionate photographer, cook and a lover of books. i love art, architecture and great design. weirdly, i used to be frustrated by fiction but now i have to say that one of my favourite books is a rather fantastical novel by Mikhail Bulgarkov, The Master and Magarita.
although i live a busy life and work in a prime example of a materialistic industry, whilst thinking of five things that i can't live without, i could only really come up with three; besides the addition of food and water, i'm pretty sure i'd get by providing i have the following;
i) my family and friends
ii) activity; nothing clears my head like a day in the ocean or the mountains
iii) inspiration; travel, books, my family and my friends
i can get by with (very) basic Italian, French, and Finnish, and never like to arrive anywhere without being able to at least greet people and be polite in the native tongue.
i'm an easy going and sociable chap. i'm clean and tidy, but not an obsessive neat freak. my girlfriend and i have stayed in a quite a few placed booked through airbnb now, and we've only ever enjoyed great experiences and met some lovely people along the way. each place has had its own charms, and i hope/think we made pretty good guests!
