I'm a Colombian native and New Yorker by heart. I've been in the City for the past 8 years. I love to travel and explore new places. My most recent trip was to South East Asia and loved it!
This was the first time I used AIRBNB and I've stayed with Cristina and Pedro for a week. They are so friendly, I felt very welcome!
The bedroom is a good size, there is enough space for your luggage. You can barely hear noises from the street so you get good nights of sleep. The room was quite warm, but I opened the window and it was okay like that. I definitely recommend this room!
I had to cancel last minute because of problems with my flights/trip, and Alejandra was amazingly understanding! This is rare, and I think this is worth 5 stars even if I had to deal with AirBnB to work out the re-imbursements.
I will definitely try to book with her on my next New York trip, that is not even a question!
I loved staying with Pedro and Cristina. This is a small, quiet, immaculately clean and uncluttered apartment in the heart of the West Village. The bed is excellent (the pillows are firm, so if you want fluffy, consider bringing your own), there's plenty of space to unpack, a pile of clean towels, and it's very quiet. The building is safe, and so is the neighborhood. Pedro and Cristina, both long-time New Yorkers, were incredibly considerate--Pedro carried my bag to the fifth floor as if it didn't weigh a thing--and they made me feel right at home. Best of all, Pedro never got tired of my questions about New York. His amazing knowledge of Manhattan history, architecture, and social issues made my experience so much richer that sometimes I (almost) felt like a local, and I left feeling I'd made a new friend. This is AirBNB--and travel--at its absolute best.
Christina and Pedro were wonderful hosts. They made me feel very welcome. The room was wonderfully cosy, especially considering the wintery conditions. I would highly recommend them and the space to any of my friends.
Cristinas room in West Village was placed so nicely and convenient for tourists. We stayed for 10days while visiting our son, who by the way recommended this room.
Cristina is a very sweet host, so easy to stay with.
We had both cold and hot weather around Christmas and as Europeans we are not used not to be able to adjust the indoor-heating to the weather. The radiator gets very hot at times, and the poor host is not allowed regulate it. However, we survived with a permanent open window.
I had a wonderful stay. The room is really comfortable and you can't beat the location. Wonderful hosts, wonderful time. I look forward to staying again.
Alejandra's place is wonderful. The apartment is in a perfect location, just two blocks from the 14th St subway and close to Chelsea. The room was lovely and had a great view of the courtyard. Plus, Pedro and Cristina were fantastic hosts! They were both so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I am now a NYC resident, but I would absolutely recommend staying at Alejandra's place for anyone wanting a great West Village room while visiting the city!
I was in New York for a class, and this was just perfect! The room is very cozy and comfortable, and the location is excellent, lots of great places to eat in walking distance. The hosts were very friendly and helpful in every way, and easy to be with. Great experience!
This was my first Air BnB experience in a home while the residents were there. I was a little trepidatious: Would it be weird or uncomfortable?
I needn't have worried. Pedro was there to welcome me and orient me to the apartment and the neighborhood. He greeted me as though we were old friends; I immediately felt at ease. I didn't meet Cristina for a day or two, but she greeted me with a warm embrace.
The room is lovely. Simple and serene, overlooking a quiet back garden. The bed was very comfortable, and there was plenty of closet space for hanging my clothes.
The location couldn't be better. A 3 minute walk to the 8th Ave. subway lines, perhaps twice that to the 7th Ave. lines. The whole West Village is outside your door, with restaurants, shops, and wonderful people-watching. The neighborhood is dotted with small parks, and the Hudson is just a few blocks away. It really is wonderful.
I'm a native New Yorker, and I travel back frequently. Pedro & Cristina are my new home away from home away from home!
I had a wonderful stay here! While in New York, I was effectively hosted by Pedro and Christina, who were extremely warm and helpful. Pedro was always on hand with great ideas for enjoying New York City! The room itself is perfect: plenty big for one person, with a good-sized and comfortable bed and even a closet in which to store clothes. The appartment is very clean and well kept. The location was also just lovely. The West Village is right outside the door; Soho and Chelsea are within walking distance, and there a subway station less than five minutes away. I would absolutely love to return!
