My husband and I both live in NYC and we are both lawyers. My husband lived in Paris for three years and loves it.
Hosting Katy was not exactly what you can tell a good experience.
I think the main problem at the base of what I want to positively consider a big misunderstanding, are the expectations of guests.
In my opinion it is very important that guests using airbnb have clear the type of accommodation they are booking.
Katy I think would be better in a hotel because the services required by her were in fact those that provides a hotel.
The worst thing, however, of this experience were his manners, rude, aggressive and especially inappropriate.
She contacted my coworker on a day of national holiday (Thanksgiving) angry because they couldn’t find an hair dryer in the unit. Unfortunately my coworker and I were out of town and could not in any way meet his demands.
She didn’t want to accept our apologies, nor understand that an apartment may lack some things (that are not reported in the ad anyway)
After screaming on the phone with us she has used the weapon of threat and blackmail, she has warned us that she would leave a bad review on our property if we wouldn’t provide her requests.
I think this is exactly the worst way to ask for something, and the surest way not to get that thing.
I can not recommend to host Katy and I regret that because we had over 150 bookings in our experience and few times we have been mistreated in this way (for reasons so trivial as the lack of soap in the bathroom or an hair dryer).
Finally I would like to point out that Katy has left the apartment without bothering to clean up some blood stains on the floor and on the pillowcases.
Katy thanks for staying in our apartment I hope to have you back in a future trip and sorry about the air dryer and TV, thanks again
Cathy was the perfect guest.
