Greetings! Welcome to New York. If you love good food and culture as much as I do, then this location is the perfect spot for you.
What we loved: it was so very close to the subway, literally only steps. It was absolutely spotless, and the kitchen had everything you could need, with the sole exception of a dish towel. There is even a playground right across the street, parking is not bad, and a Rite-Aid is on the corner. Plus lots of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. With the subway so close, all of NYC is yours to explore.
What could be better: not sunny, because two roller shades won't work, but hey, how often are you there? Who cares at night? However, the lack of two sets of keys could be problematic, if your companion(s) are not always with you, because you will have to go down stairs, outside through the back yard, down a hallway, to get to the front gate. And be sure you are a sound sleeper, or bring earplugs, or are out late, because the downstairs neighbors are noisy.
On the whole, good place to stay in Brooklyn for any part of New York City.
This place was as seen in the pictures. Less than half a block to the subway, great restaurants and amenities nearby, and a very accommodating host. My transportation was delayed and there was no issue with needing to meet very late at night. Thanks for a great stay!
The apartment was as described cozy, quiet, and convenient. I would describe this as a college dorm-like experience. We didn't spend much time there, as there isn't a lot of natural light, but the beds were comfortable, and the place was clean. The bathroom is quite small, but everything works, and you can relax in the living room.
All good. Sam was helpful and communicative and made checking in very easy, even when we arrived later than expected. The apartment is small and clearly set up for Airbnb rather than being lived in. But it has all the amenities you might need. And the location is terrific, just a few yards away from the subway into Manhattan and all the stuff on Smith St. Best part, Bien Cuit, this terrific French-style bakery, is just a few blocks away. Unbelievable croissants.
The apartment is located in a cute full of life neighbourhood. Apartment was decent and had everything we needed: quiet bedroom, convenient bathroom, WiFi, TV.. The building is quiet, no loud street noises,.. the only noise which you can hear - is squeaking floor when you walk across the room at night ( I believe that all old houses do this ). Everything ( cafes, restaurants, shops) was close by, Subway was a less than 1 minute walk ( 20 seconds literally) right on the corner. (F train - very convenient)
Sam was very responsive as well - we had a few questions during our stay and got immediate responses. We like Sam's approach - If opt A doesn't work there is another opt B - ( asked for an iron, and got a steamer - even better:).
The check in/ out process was very smooth as well.
Thank you, Sam!
Sam was very accommodating and communicative. I booked Sam's apartment for several family members who were visiting me from out of town. The location of the apartment is great; it's very close to the F/G lines and there's lots to do in Cobble Hill. The house rules are quite strict, but it's not a problem if you're just looking for a place to crash and don't plan on spending much time in the space. Thanks, Sam!
We had a great time at Sam's. The apartment is small, comfortable and cozy just like it's described. There are 2 saparate comfortable beds, It's located in a grat agrea, 20 steps from the nearest subway station ( we counted...) We loved it!
Sam was a great host for his apartment in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. The apartment is great for a stay if you want to be close to downtown brooklyn and has everything one needs. The beds in particular were liked by my parents who stayed there. Sam was very responsive and fast fix a minor issue with the bath.
This is such a great central location in Brooklyn. Less than a minute walk to the subway and Starbucks. We easily were able to get to/from Manhattan all because of being so close to the subway. Also wonderful restaurants nearby!
The actual neighborhood was nice. Our group consisted of 3 women and none of us ever felt unsafe or uncomfortable. The apartment building felt very secure. I was also amazed that I didn't have a hard time finding a parking space on the street for my rental car. Sam was even kind enough to help guide me on which side of the street to park on so I didn't have to worry about street sweeping (and getting a ticket). The apartment was on the 3rd floor and is a walk up (so you have 2 flights of stairs).
The actual apartment was clean and you can tell Sam put a lot of effort into making it comfortable. Wifi was decent- the speed was around 10Mbps.
No loud street noises. The apartment comfortably fit all 3 of us. The full sized bed was comfy. The 3rd person slept on a roll-out twin sized bed which was also comfortable. Also we never heard/saw any of the neighbors. So it seemed like a nice quiet building. Although there were areas in the apartment the wood floor was slanted- it seemed pretty normal. Sam was very responsive to texts. In general we had a really pleasant stay and would definitely come back.
Sam is great host. It was the day before our arrival that I requested Sam to stay at his apartment, but he responded promptly and pleasantly. Originally I was planning to stay another airbnb but suddenly the host cancelled reservation, I was so freaking out but Sam saved me.
His apartment was nice and cozy as described, and great location. We enjoyed so many choice of restaurant and cafe in walking distance.
