I am French-American. I moved to Paris four years ago to discover my French roots. I love to draw and paint. I just finished my MBA, so I can finance my artistic aspirations.

I spent about a week in Ariane's small, but charming, apartment together with a friend. The space works well for two people who don't spend a lot of time in the apartment anyway. Upstairs bed very comfortable and large enough for two people but pull-out bed in downstairs sofa fits only a small person, or great for a child. Nice (and many) pillows and comforter. Excellent wi-fi connection! Big windows that can be left open at night (also upstairs) is a godsend in the summer since the city can get very hot and humid, and stuffy inside. Three and a half stairs up without elevator is a bit of a climb, but this is standard in Paris. The apartment is facing a courtyard sheltered from the street noises; it's in fact very nice and quiet. The neighborhood is quite busy & full of life with a dynamic mix of people, lots of restaurants, bars and shops and the metro Strasbourg St Denis is just around the corner. Gare de l'est 5 min walk and 20 min walk to the center of Paris - Opera. Ariane is a lovely host, she left us wine and snacks + food in the fridge and answers texts and messages promptly in the most friendly and helpful way. An excellent place for your visit to Paris :)
Had a great stay in Ariane's lovely flat in the 10th arondissement. Location was terrific - close to basic shops and services and less than a minute walk to the metro, and otherwise a very comfortable stroll to many of the major sights like the Louvre and the Seine. Although it's a bit removed from the tourist track it also did not feel unsafe at any point. The apartment itself is rather cosy but the charm of having Ariane's paintings adorning the walls puts you in the mood for an artistic visit.
Me and my friend had a lovely stay at Ariane's place. The location just perfect. It took only a few meters to the metro station. From the apartment, I could be able to visit The Opera,Hard rock,Lafayette and Louvre museum by walking. It's also close to our hop-on-hop-off open tour bus stop. There are many restaurants and small Carrefour and some shopping in front of the apartment. Even through we did not meet Ariane. She was so welcome and helpful. She sent us a map of the apartment and how to get there from airport. We arrive at around 9pm and Ariane was so willing to help at all time. I highly recommend this place.
Nice experience in Ariane's apartment!
This is a tipical parisian old bilding! It is a very artistic place full of pictures and paintings everywhere and not very tidy so it's not recommended to people who wants all things very perfectly cleaned and ordered, but recommended for those who want to feel the real Paris translated century before(like a woody allen film).Anyway Ariane was kind and perfect in communication and the flat was well-equipped and at the welcome i found a bottle of wine for me :-) The bedroom upstairs is a beautiful nest with a skylight. great for a romantic couple!!! unforgettable place !!!
Very good appartments and good neibourhood. Very nice and responsible hostess
I loved my stay in Ariane's snug little apartment and felt completely at home within minutes. I was a little worried about the mezzanine before arriving, but the handrail meant that I had no problem running up and down the stairs (and I am 56) and the sleeping area was so large it was perfectly safe (which isn't always the case). I can honestly say that I have never slept better in my life and waking to see the sun (and snow and rain) peeking in through the dormer window was an absolute delight. The fact that the apartment overlooks the courtyard means that although it is in a busy and booming area the place itself is a haven of calm.
The two 'plaques' in the kitchen were perfectly adequate for preparing simple meals and with so much on offer in the area (cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, specialist shops and (my favourite) organic supermarkets) you really don't need anything more. The bathroom is small but adequate and (miraculous for France) the water in the shower was not only deliciously hot but also at a strong enough pressure for me to wash and rinse my hair without any problem. That being said, you have to be quite slender to get into it!
Ariane was a charming host, replying to my emails almost immediately and responding to my idiotic queries with infinite patience. She was there to meet me and show me around and even brought me a baguette to get me started. I felt more comfortable there than has sometimes been the case when borrowing friends' apartments, and Ariane's artworks about the place contributed greatly to its appeal. All in all, I had a lovely time and can't wait until I have an opportunity to go back there.
Ariane’s apartment is very nice and cozy. Once inside you feel like being in an artists’s place (which is also true): her paintings cover all the walls and make the studio very cozy and fancy at the same time. As described we had a studio (including a tiny kitchen) with a mezzanine. The apartment itself is small (like any other in Paris) but absolutely sufficient for a short stay for a couple. Running up and down the stairs to the mezzanine was an everyday fun for the two of us! The bathroom is also very tiny with a window, and the washing machine =) Well, the only lost stroke for the picture is the clearness of the apartment. In general it’s fine, however for the rent it could be a bit more.
In all other aspects, the location is fantastic – cozy, romantic, close the metro, where you can achieve all important sightseeng, and very comfortable to drop off the shopping bags before going out for the evening!
Ariane is a wonderful host. She is very hospitale, nice and helpful. We definetely advise all the visitors to follow Ariane’s advice regarding restaurants and cafes – they all are worth going there. Hope to come to Paris once again in the future and definitely chez Ariane. :)
Wonderful, helpful responsive host. The apt is in a great up and coming location. Couldn't really beat the mix of location and price. Apt is a little tight but worked well for me!
The apartement (duplex!) is perfectly located, especially if you arrive by train in Paris. Metro stations are just minutes away, the same as shops and supermarkets. The area is very lively but you won't hear anything in the apt.
The interieur of the apt. makes the stay like feeling to be Parisien/enne: full of paintings, pictures and a sapcious sofa. The bed upstairs is big and best suitable for couples. It is no problem to prepare simple dishes with the two stoves.
Since the bathroom is quite small and the second floor right under the roof, very tall or big people would require some flexibility ;) Wifi didn't work.
Cheese and wine for the welcoming --> 5 stars
I have stayed in Ariane's gorgeous artist studio on several visits to Paris over the last couple of years, and it has been a delight each time. Sunny, charming, well-equipped and filled with all manner of paintings and sketches, I always emerge each morning feeling inspired to take on Paris with an eye like the artist.
The neighborhood is vibrant and safe with everything you need - a Carrefour mini across the street for groceries, cool cafes like chez Jeanette down the street, and you are a short wok from Le Marais, Palais Royal, Saint Honore, you name it. Metro access is convenient for north-south travel to Saint Germain des Pres on the 4, and direct access west to the Champs Élysées on the 9.
As a host, Ariane is trustworthy, reliable, and a great source for recommendations on all things Parisian. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
