Staying at Michele's place was great, completely exceeded our expectations. Michele, the host, was very accomodating, very flexible and patient with us (we had to change our check-in time, and it wasn't a problem), great communication, he responds to questins right away...the apartment is modern, stylish and beautiful, true to photos, comfortable bed and AC made it hard to wake up in the mornings...everything you need to make yourself at home...situated very close to the Colosseum, and 2 metro stops, can pretty much walk to everything, there are cafes and convenience stores right outside your door...all-in-all a great experiece, would def stay there again!
My husband and I stayed in Ripa Terrace Flat for 5 days. We loved this area and place. Spent one whole day just sitting on terrace, after traveling for about 6 days it was a welcome break. We spent time out on the terrace morning, afternoon and evening. There is a large umbrella for shade during the day. We stayed in 3 different apartments during our month long vacation in Italy and this is the one we cooked the most in due to the great kitchen. There is a great local outdoor market very close and we bought most of our food there. We did a food tour in the area which ended one block from the apartment and highlighted the great options for food in the Trastevere area. The apartment feels like a real home and is very comfortable. Would stay here again! After a long day of sightseeing a welcome retreat from the heat and the crowds in June. Clay and Chris
Beautiful apartment, incredible location, very helpful host. Will return!
We loved this apartment. It was spacious, artfully decorated, and very, very quiet. All we heard was birds! The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed. We liked the comfortable bed and the washing machine/dryer was a godsend! The apartment is well located - there were several restaurants just downstairs and a place to pick up morning pastries. We took the city bus most of the time and just walked 1/2 block to the bus stop. The Colosseum was 1 block away. We purchased our Roma Passes at a tourist office around the corner. We highly recommend this apartment and Michele as a host. His suggestions were perfect.
Bellissima casa a due passi dal Colosseo. Abitazione nel complesso molto originale e piacevole, Michele e la sua ragazza sono stati davvero gentili e mi hanno fatto trovare tutto "perfetto"!

Perfect location, perfect apartment, perfect host! Highly recommended!
Michele and his helpers were easy to deal with. His helpers met us upon arrival and they were helpful, thorough and they even recommended a good lunch place a few doors down. The best part of the apt was the location-- easy to get everywhere. Great places to eat nearby-- did I mention that already?? We had 2 little kids with us and there was an excellent playground 2 blocks from the apt. I was worried about the second bedroom being too load at night (i'm a light sleeper) but it wasn't too bad. The only things we didn't like about the apartment were the bath and shower. Not great water pressure, drainage, etc. The towels weren't great either. Sort of a bummer to not have a great shower after a long day of travel but not atypical for an old Italian building. I guess it helped to shift my mind from this being a "luxury apartment" to just a really good apartment.
Glorious! Just returned (party of four) from two glorious weeks in Rome staying in this apartment. Judy's review below presents the pros (many) and cons (one: the disturbing nightly noisiness that wafts up from the street that is heard in the front bedroom) very well. My additions: PROS: I love to cook and this kitchen and surrounding markets are most accommodating. An outdoor market for produce, meats and fish, is around the corner. A small market across the street a few doors down to the right has wonderful cheeses, good bread, sliced meats, friendly proprietors and a good selection is wine. There is a bakery in the neighborhood with pignoli and "real" cream filled pastries to die for. Lots of places to eat. Stroll down Via Del Moro, minutes away, for tons of options and be sure to stop at Fiorno La Renella for pizza. Seek out the area near St. Cecilia's - best meal of the week: LE MANI in PASTA. Via dei Genovesi 37 (make a reservation), and at the end of our trip, if you like Indian Food - RADJHANI, Via di Santa Cecelia, 8. As a last note, I can turn this apartment's CON into a PRO: if you are looking for peace and quiet, go stay in the Villa Borghese area of Rome. If you are looking to be in the thick of it and experience the liveliness of Rome, this "delicious" apartment at Via Di San Francesco a Ripa, 169 is the place you want to be. I am hoping that subliminally, I learned some Italian from all that Iate night chatter that eventually lulled me off to sleep...
I know Michele since many years, our parents knows each others since they were kids.
We use to meet in Spain, in Cadaques, where we love to stay.
I've been in the house of Michele in Roma many times, it's in a wonderful location, very charmy and full full equipped. I strongly suggest his apartment if you have to spend some days in Rome.
