Michele was in touch the week we travelled in order to confirm our arrangements and arrival time and was there to meet us when we got out of the taxi. The apartment has two very comfortable beds, two bathrooms and a large reception room that is ideal for relaxing in. The neigbourhood is quintessentially Roman with a short walk to the river and a number of cosy restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.
The apartment was amazing. Michele was a great host - warm welcome and friendly and even gave tips and advice on the area (including his favorite best restaurants). Location was superb, right next to great cafes, restaurants, scenic spots and a few minutes form the tram / subway. The comfort and feeling of being home away from home made our stay in Rome unforgettable.
Thanks Alyn, I'm so happy you had a nice stay in my city and you felt comfortable in my house. I wish you a great 2015 !!! Ciao Michele
The flat is absolutely perfect, in the heart of trastevere, footsteps away from everything one could desire...food, drink, music, and of course hours of wandering cobblestone paths and seeking hidden gems. It was clean and well apponnted, and Michele met us promptly and showed us how everything worked. Trastevere is lively and loud at all hours, but the walls of the flat are thick and the back bedroom was perfectly quiet in spite of it all. I would definitely recommend this place, and will stay here again on my next trip to Rome if it is available.
This was our first Airbnb experience and it was a great one. When I had questions our host answered my emails promptly and was helpful. He met my son right on time to let him into the flat and explained the layout. Michele stopped by before we left to see if we had enjoyed our stay.
The flat was just as had been presented in the advertising--very comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and good access to wifi. The Trastevere neighborhood was just what we had hoped--a charming older neighborhood with a bit of a young hip vibe. We were able to walk to most of our sight seeing destinations. There was a bus line five minutes away, though we did not ride the bus.
Previous reviewers had complained about the water pressure and drainage in the shower. We went accepting that it might be a problem but it was not. The shower pressure was just fine; it also had a steam bath component. We did not use the tub. It rained during our stay so we weren't able to enjoy the patio. The place was great.
One last comment. We did pick this place in part because we have adult children and they thought it was a good spot for them. The streets do rock and roll at night. Three nights it was a happening place and three nights it was quite peaceful. We were fine with it.
Michele's apartment was fantastic! He was sick on the day of our arrival so we met his sister at the apartment for the meet and greet, she was absolutely lovely and told us everything we would need to know. Michele's communication before and during our stay was great, very helpful and fast with replies. The apartments location could not be better; it is in a quiet location but only minutes walk from the busy restaurant/market streets. Trastervere is a great suburb perfect if you like boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. There is also a tram that can be caught at the end of the road that takes you into the city centre; it is also very easy to walk in as it is flat all the way. The apartment was clean, spacious and perfect for our needs!
We stayed for a week at Ripa Roof Terrace. We had a nice welcome by Michele and his wife. We were 3 persons, two adults and one child aged 12. Michele provided us with all the necessary information we needed. The appartment was very clean upon arrival and has been newly decorated and furnished, which we enjoyed. The appartment is well ventilated, so we found no need to use the aircon. The roof terrace is wonderful and a very relaxing place to stay which we enjoyed mornings and evenings. The neigbourhood is the best I have been to in Rome, friendly, good bakery, bio-shop next door, delicatessen, good restaurants, and lively with small bars and cafe's. Would definitely like to recommend this place, it is not cheap, but If you look for something extraordinary it is worth it. It would not be so good with small children, as there is no lift and the staircase to the terrace could be a bit dangerous for them. It was hard to leave. Hope to come back to Rome again and to stay at Ripa Roof again.
Michele's Colosseo Nice Terrace Apartment was exactly as advertised. Very modern and large inside. All amenities were provided as listed and worked perfectly. The location is fantastic just steps from the Forum, Colosseum, transportation and the Monti district. Michele provides suggestions for restaurants and other useful information in a nice booklet on the coffee table.
Michele was very inviting and great to communicate with. He responded to our messages right away, and was waiting for us at the door when we arrived. Upon arrival we must have looked tired as he carried our big bag up the staircase to the apartment - what a gentleman! After doing some laundry and cooling off in the A/C we were ready to hit the streets.
I highly recommend this apartment for your visit to the Eternal City. Thanks Michele!
I know Michele since many years, our parents knows each others since they were kids.
We use to meet in Spain, in Cadaques, where we love to stay.
I've been in the house of Michele in Roma many times, it's in a wonderful location, very charmy and full full equipped. I strongly suggest his apartment if you have to spend some days in Rome.
