I am a kind and easy going type of guy who grew up in Concord, Massachusetts, which is about 20 miles west of Boston in the U.S. My mother grew up in Canberra, Australia, and my father grew up in Framingham, Massachusetts, and so I am fortunate enough to have both a U.S. citizenship as well as an Australian citizenship.
I am a low maintenance, quiet guest that does not require a lot of attention and I am always respectful of other people's belongings. My mother emigrated to Australia from Holland in 1951, which means I am 50% Dutch, which also means I am a very clean person!
For a living I teach English as a second language, which I began doing at The Boston Academy of English in 2008, and from July 2009 to December 2011 I taught for Kaplan International Colleges in Cambridge, Massachusetts; Sydney Manly in Australia, and lastly in New York City. Prior to that I was a financial analyst for Fidelity Investments in Boston, and prior to that I was a news reporter for a small newspaper outside Boston after I graduated from Union College in upstate New York in 1996.
I play golf to about a 5 handicap, and am also very good at giving golf lessons and helping people with their swing - as my friends and family can attest! In my spare time I also like to bike and cook, in addition to volunteering for worthy causes.
I have a large family in Australia with relatives in Melbourne, Canberra, Runaway Bay, Bateman's Bay, and the Sunshine Coast. My Opa, who is 93 years old, is in an assisted living home near Surfer's Paradise.
Lastly, the only thing I can't live without is oxygen, water, sunshine, food, and accommodations!
