I'm a photographer and stay at home momma to a funny and chatty three-year-old boy and another will be coming December 2014. I have a degree in Social Work and Psychology and worked in child welfare before becoming a momma. My husband is a professor of Classics so I've accidentally learned a great deal about Roman and Greek history along the way.
I once took a "travel personality" test and it said when looking for a place to stay I am 95% location and 5% fun. I'm not looking for pubs or parties (I don't even drink). I'm looking for a great deal that is close to the attractions, museums, ruins, and theater.
I'm a friendly and considerate traveler. I always strive to learn at least a few phrases in the language of whatever country I am visiting; " I'm sorry/excuse me", "Thank you", "Please", "Hello", and "How much". When traveling I strive to not look like a tourist (though I KNOW I always do) and above all, I am never the "Ugly American" (we've met them and are disgusted too). One thing you can guarantee is that I will always have my camera with me as I try to capture what it "feels like" in this new city. We're always looking for the unique experience that gets us away from the tour crowds and a chance to experience a new city, culture, and meet new people.
