36 year old female , Italian from Milan, living and working in Washington DC. Love traveling, music and good friends and wine.
The apartment worked out very well for my visit to DC. Monica greeted me when I arrived and made sure I understood where everything was and how to get the most out of the apartment. She also provided a very helpful list of places to go in the neighborhood for food, groceries, etc.
The apartment exceeded expectations. It is a spacious 2 bedroom, on a very quiet street. Lots of light with a very nice balcony space. The apartment is near all the great places in Adams Morgan. It's a bit of a hike to the metro, which is only a challenge in bad weather.
Monica's place worked out great for my week long visit and I am very glad to have stayed there.
First experience with Airbnb and it was great! Superbe flat in a great neighbourhood, nice restaurants and bars all around, as well as banks, convenience stores, cvs... We had some problems with electricity and the alarm system but Monica was always very reactive and it was dealt very quickly. High recommendation if you want to spend a few days in Washington.
Terrific space in a terrific neighborhood. Our host made us feel at home and responded very quickly to a couple of electrical issues we had during our stay. She supplied us snacks, coffee, and let us use whatever we needed. A couple of small caveats: The apartment has a rectangular glass dining room table and a few stairs in it that may make it challenging if you are traveling with a toddler. Also, the second bedroom's sofa bed has a very thin mattress. It was okay for our eight year old, but an adult will find it uncomfortable, especially over a longer stay. Otherwise, we were very happy with our selection. A lovely quiet block just minutes away from a small park and tons of dining options. If you're not driving there is easy access to downtown via a number of buses.
Being a first-time users of Airbnb and selecting a home that had no previous reviews (due to being a new property on Airbnb), I was a little nervous about how things would turn out, but they turned out great! All inquiries on Airbnb were responded to promptly. We selected Monica’s apartment due to its great location and the full second bath. Check in/out went very smoothly. Monica's apartment was exactly as listed and pictured. It was clean, spacious, nicely decorated, and had a very modern kitchen that was fully furnished with everything you would need to prepare meals. There is also a wonderful back porch with a charcoal grill that I’m sure we would have used more had the weather been a little warmer. Monica treated us with a goodie basket which was unexpected and very thoughtful! Our bed was very comfortable. As listed, the second bedroom is a sleeper sofa in a TV room; which may not be for everyone, but it worked out fine for our daughters. Having a second full bath was so helpful in getting ready in the mornings. The location of the apartment is in a very nice area, close to many restaurants, bars, grocery stores, etc. We were in walking distance of the metro (about 20 min. walk) and also the zoo. The location also allowed us to get by with a short-trip metro pass, saving us money. We found it easiest to leave our car parked and use the metro to get to places in the city. Although there is no designated parking, Monica did provide us with a free parking pass that allowed us to park all day/night on the streets in the area. The pass does not necessarily mean you will be parking on the same block as the apartment, but we always managed to find a spot within a relatively short walking distance. Please note, you should be prepared to parallel park in usually tight spaces so smaller cars will be easier to manage (typical conditions for large cities.) Overall, we had a wonderful stay in DC and would recommend this apartment as a very nice place to stay.
Monica is welcomed again anytime, she is great. We hope we can have her again in the future!
