Our stay was wonderful! Highly recommended, we'll be back again!
The location was perfect to access the metro as well as walk around the beautiful neighborhood. The bed was comfy and the shower large. Overall great.
Appart très bien placé, parfait pour un wek-end à Paris. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut dans l'appart, c'est parfait!
This was my first airbnb experience. Myself and a friend from Canada stayed in Antoine's apartment for 2 nights.
The location was excellent and the size was perfect for our purposes. A nice sized kitchen for light cooking purposes (ie tea, eggs, toast, etc) and 2 comfortable beds (one fold out couch, one double bed). The neighbourhood is wonderful and the people were very welcoming, which surprised us after reading online that Parisians generally dislike tourists. There is a fantastic bakery two door down that sells coffee, macaroons, grab and go sandwiches, and much more that is a definite "must try". An amazing spot to sit and enjoy the view, people watching, etc.
A couple things to note: The wifi kicked out on our last evening there which made it hard (read: nearly impossible) for us to smoothly plan our departure. Being international traveller, we did not have access to wireless service so we kind of had to "wing it" when we were leaving the next day. We weren't sure about checkout so we waited around until 12:50 (10 minutes before check out time) waiting to see if anyone would show up to collect the keys. Luckily the internet came back on at this time and we were able to message Antoine to ask him if it was ok to leave them inside the apartment. On the same night, the power went out in the hallway leading to the apartment and we were left in the middle of a dark winding stairwell. Last but not least, there was a lot of renovations happening in the building which may have affected our decision to book the apartment, but overall did not affect the quality of our stay.
Overall, we would definitely recommend Antoine's apartment for a couple or two individuals. Antoine was incredibly friendly and more than hospitable, especially after we got lost at the airport and arrived a half hour later than we had originally specified. Thank you Antoine for a wonderful stay!
We stayed 3 nights at Antoines's apartment. and had everything that we needed. A quite place at a very convenient location in the Latin quarter, near to the Metro (Les Gobelins) and easy walking distance to Rue Mouffetard street market and the Botanical gardens. Antoine was very friendly and helpful, and "spoiled" us with many "goodies" including fruit and even a bottle of wine! The apartment has everything that Antoine listed and more.
Absolutely recommended for any short or long stay in Paris!!
Perfect location in the Latin quarter; really nice area with lots of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, etc., and good transport links. Felt like a safe area and the flat itself was nice and cozy. Antoine also met us at the flat to show us around and to hand us the keys. In short, I'd highly recommend it!
Nice cute apartment in a good location. Very close to the Metro (Les Gobelins). Bonus points for Antoine who was a perfect host and did everything right. Good communication beforehand, fantastic instructions to find the apartment. Tips on the area. And even some fruit, bread and a bottle of wine!!
Highly recommended. Great overall experience.
We found Antoine's apartment was the perfect place to explore Paris from- its a good central location, but in a fairly quite side-street, in a lovely traditional apartment building with beautiful tiling and winding, wooden stairs up from the entranceway. The apartment itself is compact but without feeling cramped, thanks to the high traditionally-shuttered windows, and although we spent little time there during our short stay, it was delight to come home each evening- apart from having everything one might practically need for a longer stay, Antoine's intriguing collection of art and objects lend the apartment the aura of a carefully curated private museum! It is a great size for a couple, or for 2 friends, or perhaps more- it might start to feel a little cramped with more than 3 people for a longer stay, but all the beautiful personal touches and conveniences make it an infinitely preferable choice to a hotel room. Antoine himself was very accommodating, and flexible about meeting us when our train was a little delayed. In summary, if we return to Paris, its very likely we will chose to stay here again!
A beautiful flat in a nice quiet part of Paris. Very comfortable and cosy, and a real pleasure to stay in for a week. I can't recommend it enough
With so many Airbnb's in Paris we were suffering from "paralysis of analysis" so we just picked Antoine's in the Latin Quarter. Turned out we chose the perfect place from which to explore Paris for 7 nights.
3 Rue Scipion is good-sized and well-appointed, but really shines with its location. On the mundane side for groceries, wine and bread there is a large well-stocked Carrefour directly across the street and a lovely bakery two doors down. The bus and the Metro are each a 5 minute walk with the Metro Stop of Les Gobelins on the #7 line easily accessible from many other Metro stops so you never have to worry about getting so lost you can't find your way home. (And, of course, Paris is best explored by turning down side streets and getting yourself lost on purpose) Antoine's wireless connection is fast and he laid out two bottles of wine, nice bread and numerous pieces of varied fresh fruit for us upon our arrival.
We never had a problem getting him to text us back as we were arranging the booking and directions. It seems best to take a cab from the airport straight to his apartment unless you are already familiar with Paris and/or you arrive during the daylight. We arrived at Antoine's at 10 pm and it was not a problem for the happy Frenchman.
I would say unless you are just desperate to stay in someplace like Montparnesse or Montemarte, you should expand your thinking and see if Antoine's apartment is available when you get ready to book.
Also at about $120 per night, you will not find a hotel nicer than this in a better location in all of Paris, in my opinion.
The place was full of treasures and Antoine did a lot of extra little things to make our stay very pleasant. The flat is near two metro lines and close by markets. Zero complaints, I would recommend it!
Words are not enough to describe how lucky we were to have Antoine and his partner as guests! First of all they were kind enough to collect the keys from a different address to the apartment, then they were really tidy and considerate and ultimately we were pleasantly surprised to receive little presents at the end of their stay! Really wonderful guests! Thank you!
Great guest! Always welcome back!
Antoine and Zoe were perfect guests! We feel really lucky when we have guests lie them! It is people like Antoine and his girlfriend that make airbnb so special!
Wonderful care of the apartment, really nice people. We feel really lucky! Thank you!
